Sadly, most of the time both sides are most in favor of the level of government having supremacy that gets the result that side wants.

Wait, so now we're in favor of State's rights again? For 44's two terms I thought their argument was that federal law should over ride state law.

I can't speak for others, but I support federal supremacy when it's federal law championing individual rights and freedoms against a state government trying to restrict those rights and freedoms. I support states' rights when those rights are used to protect individual freedom.

I always come down on the side of freedom and liberty. Always.

This logic is kinda puzzling. You're spending far in the red. So don't worry about spending money in the category that you're spending the least in? Dude, that's "wife" economics right there.

I disagree and think you are 180 degrees off here. :)

"Wife" (ex-wife, lol) economics is having a $2500+/month mortgage payment and $1000/month in car payments (out of control entitlement spending) and suggesting "helping" the family budget problems by waiting an extra thousand miles to change the oil in the car. ;)

Also, adding the the border wall, border patrol agents, mandatory eVerify and economic development of the places people are fleeing, all lead to some return on those investments: lower social program spending and increased domestic wages. The opposite is true of entitlements... once that money is spent, the recipients demand more and more.

This right here. When one's policy and philosophy are "situationally dependent" based on what works for them and their constituency.

The ****hole countries will need to make due with their current palace decor.

To put that idea in "Wife Economic" terms, the money sent to ****hole countries is like the money that your wife donates to the Church Bazaar fund. That donation makes it possible for your wife to hold the position of Chief Organizer for the big Ice Cream Social, and it also greases the wheels for your kid to have the lead role in the big Christmas Play.

So, it's not a matter of telling the Church Basaar that they won't be getting your donation, it's a matter of telling your kid that she's not going to get the lead role in the play this year, and telling your wife that she's being busted down to Chief dish-washer at the ice cream social. Good luck with that ;)

I wonder if mexico is getting some sort of cut from the logistics of moving these people across their country, now back and forth.

    Always follow the money

    Ask, and you shall receive:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/h...whelming-us-agents/ar-BBRj9kr?ocid=spartanntp

"...The travel packages in Guatemala start at $15,000 for personalized five-star service that deliver customers to any destination in the United States. Caal opted for a mid-level offer, $7,000, plunging into debt...like other smuggling offers in Guatemala, children pay only when they travel alone, without a parent or guardian. When they come with an adult, they travel free.

That has become the smugglers’ pitch in the months since President Trump imposed — and later repealed under intense public pressure — a separation system at the border to split parents from their children. Since then, word has spread across Central America that adults who arrive with children have the best chance at avoiding U.S. detention and deportation.

Once they reach the United States, court limits on the government’s ability to hold children in immigration jails and a lengthy backlog at U.S. courts — fueled by a fourfold increase in asylum claims since 2014 — mean that nearly all of the parents and children taken into U.S. custody are let go after a short stay at a Border Patrol station...

    ...
This person said the network’s ability to travel so openly along Mexican highways with busloads of Guatemalans is a sign of an advanced logistical operation that smooths its route with cash payoffs to police. “This is a transnational criminal group. There’s no doubt,” the person said..."

The pregnant females, teenagers, and sick children are not here to work.

They're here to remand themselves into the waiting arms of the U.S. taxpayer.

They're not even trying to avoid border agents. To the contrary, they seek them out.
The Border Patrol has become the "admission desk" of the American Welfare State.

Trump is right. We're being had.

The latest uproar is the death of an 8 year old Guatemalan boy in CBP custody with his father. In the original timeline of events, they reported that the boy became ill, was given antibiotics and tylenol to bring down his fever. A day or two later, he began vomitng and was again offered medical care, but his father refused it. On Christmas Eve, he was transported to a medical facility but he passed away.

MSM (At least NBC) is now conveniently leaving out the part in bold italics above. They've shortened it to (in so many words), boy got sick, Trump killed him.

The media has a lot of capital for their agenda when children are involved to spin it as they like and they will take advantage of it.

    Scum.

    From Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...mala-boy-dies-mother-in-despair-idUSKCN1OP14A

"The boy was found to have a fever and cold and was released with a prescription for an antibiotic and Ibuprofen. That evening, Gomez started vomiting, and his father declined medical help because his son had been feeling better, CBP said."

    Compare to CNN's version: https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/25/us/guatemalan-boy-dies-in-us-custody/index.html

    Or NBC's: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...on-custody-after-being-diagnosed-cold-n951826

I have researching the existing immigration laws and the loopholes and how they are being abused. If a person can achive refugee or asylum status you have basically got the “golden ring”.
Refugees can become a citizen in a year or so and immediately go to work get a drivers license and SS card or receive SSDI if they are disabled and get this they can petition to bring family members into the country before they are a citizen.
I assume this is the reason that cases for refugee status went from 5,100 in 2008 to a staggering 250,000 in 2017! Lawyers coach the immigrants on the story to tell in order to get approved and how to appeal. Get this if you say you were abused after arrival in the US you can receive asylum status and SSI for being abused?

I think we may have already lost the fight on this issue and we might want to start looking for a new country to settle in?

Who is a Refugee or Asylee?
A refugee or asylee is any person who is outside his or her country of nationality who is unable or unwilling to return to that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution.

    • Persecution or the fear thereof must be based on the individual's race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion
    • Refugees and asylees are eligible to adjust to lawful permanent resident status after one year of continuous presence in the United States
    • All refugees and asylees have employment authorization based on their status

History of Battery and Cruelty for Immigrants
A history of battery and cruelty within the U.S. may extend SSI eligibility for those non-citizens who do not fit the above categories, and they may be a “deemed qualified alien”

    • Applicants will need to know that this question about battery and cruelty will be asked and may need help in talking about their experiences
      • Question 13(a) on the SSA-8000 (SSI application) is the first question about this issue
      • Question 13(b) addresses whether or not a formal petition has been submitted with DHS for a change in immigration status because of battery or cruelty

Huh. I'm a little surprised that California even admitted this. Maybe they will give the killer sanctuary if they find him... I'm sure he was just opressed or something. Police officer (LEGAL immigrant by the way) killed by an ILLEGAL immigrant. Whodafiggered? I guess they'd have to admit that Trump was right that SOME of these people are indeed criminals and "bad hombres". They'll never do that. Governor Moonbeam will probably pardon him if they ever catch him.
