    I remember brisket at .99/lb and filet mignon at $4.99. First gas I bought was $0.84/gallon. A candy bar and coke, even at the gas stations where prices were high, was $1

    I was pumping gas at a filling station back in 1975. That’s when you cleaned the windows, checked the oil and tires, and thanked the customer for coming in to bye gas.

    When I was little, the local places would let you get your own or you could ask for an attendant.
