I know this is a bit over a year old now, but as far as free speech and whatnot go... here's what Trump said about Pam Geller and the attack in Garland. He took the leftist "She shouldn't be dressed that way if she didn't want to be raped" approach.

    Trump being interviewed on Cavuto:

Oh I know it doesn't matter much. It's just late, ran across it, thought I'd share. I know, "but hillary" something-or-other.

Is the word raped anywhere in that quote or exchange? It is late and I might have missed it.

That would be the worst possible case if his taxes came out with anything bad in them.

There are far worse things that his tax returns could reveal than tax dodging. (Which is unlikely).

I suspect that his returns will reveal a motivation for his fascination with all things Putin.

I can't come up with any other reason for his sudden revelation that the way to defeat ISIS is to cede the Middle East to Russian influence. That's an entirely new plank in the republican platform that I haven't seen before. And everyone seems to be "ok" with it?

Biden says Bill's past 'shouldn't matter' in Hillary's campaign

That seems to lend some validity to the claims made against him.

I can remember during the reelection campaign for Bill, the media kept telling us that "character doesn't matter". We COULD NOT judge him for his personal life.

    Remember it WELL.

Apparently nothing matters if your last name is Clinton.

So, off we-the-people haply go to hand over more of our constitutional rights and personal freedoms all in the name of social progress, comfort and security. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Our problems are not with those whom we elect, it is with ourselves and what we tolerate.

The media has its agenda, and lies to us constantly in an attemot to get us to believe what they want us to believe. They fabricate evidence, doctor videos, use lying"witnesses" to condemn whoever they don't like or build up who they do like. And they flat out lie to us constantly.

We have all seen it time and time again.

Why would you suddenly, NOW, believe everything bad they say about Trump when you obviously don't believe all the good things they say about Hillary?

Everyone who scoffed at the vast right-wing conspiracy should be equally dubious of a vast left-wing conspiracy. IMHO.

Question: At what point does an obsession turn dangerous?

I'm asking for an internet friend.

All of this...discussing State secrets via private email; husband a sexual predator; is clearly a practicing witch; accessory in multiple assassinations; got several US personnel killed in an embassy attack; botched an attempt at socialized healthcare; deleted evidence in a Federal investigation; probably committed voter fraud several times; using her position to benefit her foundation; the foundation being crooked; etc etc etc.

And we still can't beat her.

Where does this leave the GOP? Obviously there is a contingent that doesn't believe it yet but we can revisit this on the evening of the 8th.

Or maybe later after the victimspeak dies down. "The MSM did this to us" or "Poor people want free stuff" or "Immigrants" or whatever other reasons people can think of to be victimized by. Once that is over, what happens?

The mainline GOP has the down ballot seats to worry about which is why I think they are abandoning Trump in force right now. If they can hold on to both houses I think the likelihood of a tea party-esque split is low. If they can't, will there be an anti-establishment movement? Something around anti-free market protectionism, xenophobia, gun rights, extension of Federal power over the States?

In any case I wonder if this is really an historic moment for the GOP and that things will be very different after. Tea party was something of a blip but this feel a lot bigger. Moreover I'd like to think there are lessons to be learned on winning the presidency. The GOP has done well in down ballot elections but those strategies don't seem to be translating to POTUS.

Lol. Sure. I've been watching the Clinton News Network pulling put all stops to support the Clintons at every opportunity for 20 years now.

Yes. It's not a conspiracy when it's true. demoncrat collusion with the media. It's all there via wikileaks.

Ok. Let's say there is a media conspiracy in favor of Clinton.

And let's acknowledge that Trump dominated the media during the primaries. They gave him more earned media by wide margin.

Is Trump's nomination the product of the left wing conspiracy?

If the last 8 years and everything Stick said two posts ago didn't open people's eyes that the nation needs to move away from it's socialist direction, nothing will. I believe the train has left the station and there is nothing - nothing - going to stop it. If conservatives can't win this year they never will. Any offering after this year will only be non-conservatives battling for the scraps.

I'm an optimistic person, but there is little to no optimism here. For the next generation or more the SCOTUS, POTUS and congress will move us to socialism.

Marx predicted certain things would happen. The reasons and timing of certain trends might be different than he predicted, but he was kinda right about a bunch of stuff - about how societies would evolve.

    Here's an article:
    https://hbr.org/2011/09/was-marx-right

I'm not saying he was "right" about what SHOULD happen. I'm saying he was pretty good about guessing what WOULD happen.

It's been megative media coverage every step of the way. From day one they've been trying to stop him.

His nomination is a result of people being fed up with the GOP and their typical candidates who screw us over every single time they win. They don't own him, and he's not one of them. He's not owned by either major party, they can't control him, and he's not going to march in lock-step with all the same established party hacks on either side.

That is why he won the nomination.

    That's not how it happened.

Coverage during and before primary was Neutral-to-Positive. They already covered this in leaked e-mails. Giving him hours and hours of neutral coverage, while giving other candidates none. From day one they built him up to make him the nominee. Then after the primary, the negative coverage kicked in to guarantee Clinton's victory.
