It's amazing to me that people want new or even more than new prices for their used guns. There have been a couple on here I would have liked to have but I'm not paying them extra.

I know. There is a Para G-I that looks well used for $700
I can get a new one for $550.
Beats me what folks are thinking.
    Need :coffee:

Paras scare me. I have heard too many horror stories from friends and acquaintances about feed problems that can't be resolved. I'd love to have another 1911 but I keep buying them and then selling them. Funny, I started out as a 1911 guy.

We have had so many Para's over the years and zero problems. The son really wants another P-12 double stack. He used mine a lot until I sold it and my P-14.
I have heard the story's but never had an issue with one personally.

I have a couple of old quartersawn oak pieces of furniture that I refinished a few years ago. I will have to settle for putting them on one of those and see how it turns out.

My friend bought a CZ 97B. Don't know if you are familiar with them. A large frame, all steel .45acp. He modded it to SAO and did a trigger job, F/O sights. What a sweet shooting gun.

I rationalize the same way...Oh yeah I really need this one....:)

I seem to be able to sell them easier these days as well. Sell 2 and get 1 really nice one and then end up replacing the ones I sold. :dunno:

I have been avoiding the CZ thing as many are telling me how wonderful they are. I am sure it is only a matter of time.

Ya, I decided a couple of years ago to have fewer but much nicer guns. I got that done but now I seem to be replacing the other ones as well. Oh well, no one to ***** at me about it. ;)

I would love to let you shoot any of mine. Consider it an open invitation. Since you are a 1911 guy what are your thoughts on the Dan Wessons?

The pieces I have seen are well done and run great. They are not something you see in someones range bag but I have some friends who have owned and do currently own them.
I have not actively pursued one but I do like the Valor.

Thanks for the invite. When I retired last summer I thought there would be ample time to go shooting and meet up with ingo people at the range. Not so much. I am wanting that to change this summer.

I would be very interested in having you shoot that 97 and getting your thoughts. It is a big honkin' gun and quite heavy but there is virtually no barrel rise and it is crazy accurate.
