Cool eyes! Thanks for the link.

    Are those gueinies (sp)?

Yep...Guinea Fowl. They eat ticks..tons of ticks and other bugs. That was our main reason for having them. Now they are all old and the critters have killed a lot of them. Coons and such are hard on a flock.

I've wanted guinea for a couple years now but a buddy of my hubby told him they were noisy, very noisy birds and he told me I couldn't,t get any.

He's right...they are VERY loud and they fly really well so keeping them in a pen is nearly impossible. Mine sleep in the trees and crap all over everything under that tree. They squawk at all hours of the night if something it around that shouldn't be so they do make good watch dogs. However, they also squawk for no reason and make me get out of bed and run around the yard in my jammies with my gun looking for coons and stuff.

    Aren't farms noisy anyway?

    Except maybe at night. :)

Sometimes...the guineas are kind of an ear splitting sound, especially if you have a bunch of them. One sounds off and they all go nuts. If you have neighbors that are fairly close, they don't always appreciate them.
