Have you done all the regular in program maint. on the lap top...de-frag etc..????

If mine starts acting up I run the clean up programs and it is right on point after that. 3 year old Sony Vaio. Might be 4 years old by now...

Yep, all that stuff is set up to run automatically. I think it's a hardware issue. I should just take it apart and blow it out.

No computer expert, but I do know how to removed the keyboard and get into the guts. I have had to change out keyboards several times. Had Dell laptops for years and their keyboards are crap.

If you tear it apart make sure you ground yourself. I've fried a few things with static discharge. Pet cat, walk across room, touch video card....ZAP!

FYI, Tannerite is good for taking things apart. Not so good for putting them back together though.
