Nope. I just tried to chamber a round and it loaded half way then got hung up. While I was looking at it the slide released and chambered the round. I am done messing with it. It's not safe.

I agree, as long as you have other weapons available, it's best to send it back to the pros.

Hey Esrice or V8, got an AR question for you.

Gave my AR a deep cleaning for the first time today. Downloaded some instructions from the AR forum. Made a big deal that you always clean the barrel from the receiver end to flash suppressor, and never visa versa. Why??

You're pushing all the gunk out of the rifle, not into the where it eats. You don't poop where you eat, do you!? :rockwoot: :D

First, why are you cleaning your AR? :n00b: Did you just run 2k rounds through it? :D

To answer your question-- 2 main reasons.

    1. To avoid damaging the barrel crown, which can cause all kinds of accuracy issues.
    2. To keep all the gunk from falling out of the barrel and into your receiver.
Damn, why can't I have some nice property like that!?!?

lovemywoods did it the old fashioned way. It included Rose-Hulman, a chemical engineering degree, and Eli Lilly.

I do it the new school way. I mooch off of lovemywoods.
