Here is a pic of my mbus gen 3's

The rear sight looks like it might be on backwards if the glowy parts are facing the front of the gun. :dunno:

Actually I think his rear is on correctly, just moved too far back. (if you fold it down, does it stick out past the receiver?)

The front looks like its on backwards, as it should fold down toward the shooter, not to the target.

I'm not 100% familiar with the MBUS stuff though.

I can see what your talking about, but don't see anything obvious.

I wonder if it's the magazines? :dunno: I only have the 2 factory mags. I'll let Ruger figure it out. Last time I had a question about the gun I emailed them on a saturday night and had a response sunday morning.

do they both lay flat for night sights, front up back down, or bach up front down?

They should fold down out of the way for when you are running an optic.

When you flip them up you should be able to use them as "iron" sights. I would assume the tritium "night sight" portion is in the front sight post. Or perhaps also on the ring around the rear aperture.

I have asked some questions on the S&W forum. I'll bet there is a Ruger forum and somebody may have had a similar problem.

There are a couple ruger forums. I'm not going to worry about it too much. I dont have enough experience/knoweldge about gunsmithing to mess with it. Knowing me I'd make it worse. :D I'll let ruger take care of it.

Im thinking it functions like a 3 dot sight on a pistol

Thanks for the detailed pics-- they help.

First, those aren't Magpul. I don't recognize the logo. Where did you find them?

Second, it does indeed look like you fold them down for the "pistol" type sights to show.

Third, if that is the case, then your front is definitely backwards.

Never seen anything like that before.

Fourth, I don't see any tritium viles. Perhaps the white paint they used can be "charged" with a light source and will then glow for a few seconds in the dark.
