I understand the mills are a dangerous place, but they could be less dangerous if the management wanted to do the right things and have adequate staffing and updated equipment, etc.

We just had a fatality June, Chuck Kremke, he was a Motor Inspector in the building where I work (#1 Caster). I worked with him for over a decade.
I dont know this guy. He was a Motor Inspector over by the Rolled Mill.

We cant get around the fact that manufacturing steel is dangerous. We try to minimize it.
But now we the mill is using a consulting group, the McKenzie Group.
And they haven't learned our lessons. But they are making the rules.
So now the danger is going up.
That sounds like a recipe for disaster....

Their newest brainstorm... Resource Sharing.
When the 2 Caster has a big job (or any building), let's bring in workers from other places, even though they don't know the area.
