Actually, I found it after I returned...

There is a pocket on the outside of my suitcase I store dirty socks & underwear while traveling. That way the dirty socks don't stink up the stuff inside my suitcase. When I was unloading it Saturday for laundry, there was the hat at the bottom of the pouch.
My guess is what you said Thursday morning, after searching my bag and zipping it up, they found the hat on the bench and just put it in the pouch....
I know I didn't put it there, it was inside the bag when I loaded my samples Wed morning, whoever searched the bag had to have done it...

Traveling with those plastic lumber sample blocks is a PITA, my bags get searched almost every time...

Thanks for the reminder though, I need to wash it after being in the pouch with dirty socks & underwear....

That or save it for the 1500, the smell would prob fit right in.......
