Have you considered a dedicated .22 upper? Not that cheap but same manuals of arms to train with

Yeah I have thought about this. I haven't researched it at all yet. What kind of cost am I looking at? How hard is it to switch back and forth?

I'm pretty much an AR noob. I can clean it, and shoot it, and buy expensive stuff for it, but that's about it...

This is another option... I've really been considering that too... but I might just want something cheap, like a Marlin or a savage. I really don't know what I want.

I think its the two pins and a different bolt carrier which will probably come with the upper if its a dedicated upper.

As far as cost, I think they are about the same price as the M&P 15-22

They are fun and you can find mags for $20 at lots of places

I try to be irresponsible with my money but I don't have any after the bills are paid
