I have to prick myself every freaking day, I hate it, my fingers are always hurting, not as bad when I had to do it 7 times daily that really sucked

Yea..my wife has to do it 8 times per day...7 during the actual day then she has to get up at 2am to check it again. the 8 times per day is only until next week then if all is well she can go to 7 times per day. we will also find out next week whether or not she needs to start taking insulin. I sure hope not.

That sucks for her, I'm down to about 4 times a week and I still hate it

I'm sorry to hear about that Relic. I can't imagine having to do that every day. I'll pray that she doesn't need insulin.

Just do what I did. Sack up for a while and use the same finger all the time. Eventually you'll get a callous and it won't hurt anymore. I test anywhere from 5 - 8 times a day now. Been on insulin for 12 years. Yea, it sucks, but its a helluva lot better than the alternative.
