My Summit package arrived yesterday with the super hi tech header gaskets to guarantee no problem sealing, very difficult to find this gasket for this engine, but they were back ordered on 3" collector gaskets. REALLY??????!!!!! I guess I'll stop at O'Reilly this afternoon and pick some up so I can find out if the original motor that came out of the Galaxie will start or not.

    Two steps forward 3 back. . .

lots of parts arriving this week. Bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler/pitman arm, drop spindles, springs, flip kit, c-notch and speaker spacers for the fronts. I'm going to be sore as hell Monday.

Agreed. As fot Quick Fuel, I have seen 4 bolted on and were pretty much perfect out of the box

Second that on a purpose built carb; I sent a 650 double pumper out to a dude by the name of Gant many moons ago to have him massage it. That thing was phenomenal when I got it back and put it on my engine.

I hear he's made a fair reputation for himself now in the carb tuning world!

Not my area of expertise, but i saw in W. Chicago today, a 1967 Oldsmobile 442 Rocket. Paint looked original. (Rough) and it was rolling down the road not making any weird noises.
    A first for me.

I had the carb for the stroker on the bench. It is in good shape to have been sitting unattended for so many years.
I have most of the gaskets to get into it. Just a good clean up required. I would love to get it re-plated but not now.
