I believe the general thrust of his post was that with the (premature) easing of sanctions we provided them the wherewithal to purchase said state of the art missile system - we might as well just have written the check to Russia.

The narrow nuclear agreement with Iran has not removed them from the list of potential hostiles for military planning purposes. One never likes to see a potential adversary's capabilities markedly improved. We paid for it in $$ and may someday have to pay for it in lives as well.

Unilateral US sanctions weren't going to prevent this purchase from happening nor keep iranian foreign assets frozen. The other countries who went along and made crippling sanctions possible, including Russia, would no longer be member US led sanctions as they all trust the UN to enforce the nuclear ban.

That said how does Obama prevent Russia from selling missile defense systems to Iran? What Iran wouldn't have been able to afford it if it weren't for sanction relief? Is that what we're saying?

It's double speak to say we paid for it in dollars. It was irans money unfrozen, we like to not imply but outright state that Obama wrote the Iranians a check which is patently false.

Sigh... Just confirmed that the entire Iran deal that is sending billions of dollars to Iran, released them from sanctions and not really checking their nuclear weapons development was a lie knowingly sold by the administration to a willing and ignorant media and on to the American people.

Rhodes singled out a key example to me one day, laced with the brutal contempt that is a hallmark of his private utterances. “All these newspapers used to have foreign bureaus,” he said. “Now they don’t. They call us to explain to them what’s happening in Moscow and Cairo. Most of the outlets are reporting on world events from Washington. The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That’s a sea change. They literally know nothing.”

This is no surprise considering how inept this administration. And considering how easily they can manipulate the American people that are clueless. Well some of the American people.

I'm confused as to how you're coming to your conclusion based on that article? The media don't have as many foreign bureaus anymore so the Iran deal is a sham?

"Spokesman John Kirby's announcement contradicted the position held by the department for the last three weeks, during which officials said the video was missing because of a "glitch."

But Kirby said officials didn't know who asked for the video to be edited, and said the department is unlikely to investigate further into who wanted the video to be edited."

I would say that bears all the hallmarks of a Clinton stonewall

So, what am I missing? It was a press conference right? How hard would it be to get details?
