Yeah but he’s a ****ing socialist.

But he doesn't call people that disagree with him "****ing *label*".

    Tends to be relatively open-minded.

Though maybe it's just an act. He's definitely there pushing his book/podcast.

I find myself gravitating more and more to people that don't see the world in a combative black-and-white. People that are "you be you, I'll be me", and just live life.

That's what I want to see more of, and that's where I'd love to see society take a turn into, somehow.

He doesn’t get points for not being an ******* to people just because he disagrees with them. That’s the expected behavior.

He showed himself to be reasonable when he talked to Jordan Peterson last year. he’s still a ****ing socialist.

I do give him some extra points for being an ******* to Chelsea Handler.

I see it more like... I'm at the point where I'm caring less about people's politics, and more about what they have to say.

I obviously disagree with some of Brand's politics. But he's also right on a few topics. He can still say some enlightening and interesting things.

Same with Alex Jones. Trying not to let my disagreements about some areas of people completely shut me off from the good parts. There's too much of that.

People want nothing to do with Dave Rubin, Joe Rogan, Christina Hoff Sommers, etc... because of one or two aspects of their lives... when, in reality, they'd probably agree with them on all the other stuff. We're too quick to cancel each other over one or two things. We're all made up of more than one or two things, in most cases.

Haven't followed him lately, but apparently Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad) is running for member of European Parliament. Lot of hit-pieces followed, and Reddit has quarantined his sub.

I've only seen a little from Sargon, but this was bloody brilliant:

Another thing I agree with both Brand and Rogan on - Factory farming and Ag-Gag laws. Both should be illegal, but we've come so far as a country that it wouldn't be possible to stop factory farming and expect things to work. People rely on that cheap $1 Big Mac.

Edit: Also, Jamil... you might be surprised to hear Brand is a fan of Jordan Peterson.

I’m not canceling Brand. I’m not refusing to hear him out. I have. I’m just saying he’s a ****ing socialist.

But anyway, if you haven’t seen it already, do google the video of him ****ting on Chelsea Handler.

Not surprised at all. They had a very good discussion. It was interesting.

    And he’s a ****ing socialist.

I just wanted to emphasize that point.

Good that you clarified. I wouldn't do that using YOUR plumbing.

Well. She’s not physically unattractive. You’d **** her if she weren’t so politically toxic. I mean, if yer single and she propositioned you, and you didn’t recognize her, tell me you wouldn't take ole one-eye to the optometrist.

But then after it’s over she’ll open her mouth and all her nutty toxic politics will vomit out, and you’d be like, ew! I ****ed that?

Men are weird that way. Women seem to tend towards caring more about personality, and want to get to know men first (notwithstanding hookup culture). Men will **** what looks attractive and then regret it in the morning when she starts revealing her personality.

^^^^that’s reflective of basic evolutionary biological desires to 1. reproduce and propagate the species, and 2. depend on a mate to provide while nurturing offspring.

    SCIENCE!

And yet, in 2019 we challenge that biology and somehow think we’ve completely moved beyond it...

Hookup culture is kinda defying women’s biology. They they grow old and alone and bitter. They become Chelsea Handler.

This seems overly statist. You can already support non-factory farms receiving enhanced pricing for a clean product by how you shop, you don't need the state to outlaw factory farming. The results of that would likely be to price the low income portions of the population out of the market for certain foodstuffs due to scarcity, not create a marketplace where such foodstuffs are available to everyone

If the free market isn't free, the boundary conditions are "Let them eat cake" and "From each according to his abilities to each according to his needs" and both devolve into practically everyone is poor and the poor get ****ed

As far as Ag-Gag, what little I know of laws actually on the books is that they are directed at the use of false identities to seek employment with an organization for the express purpose of filming and editing footage to advance an agenda. They are reacting to what locally is felt to be business people being subjected to propaganda and tried in the court of public opinion.

In the end, the previous owner of that steak or drumstick you may be eating was killed to obtain it. Farming will always contain a certain level of cruelty, a goal to minimize that is only marginally compatible with the postulated goal of these organizations to drive businesses into bankruptcy

Even though I'm pretty sure animals aren't being killed at your workplace (except maybe on that secret altar in the basement) would your employer welcome people using false identities to hire on and then surreptitiously filming the workplace? I think not. And if this sort of thing became a big enough problem for your owners, I suspect they would leverage whatever influence they had with their representatives to try to put a stop to it

I'd be much more worried about Monsanto being allowed to patent a genome than any law to shorten PETA's leash

No. I don't care how she looks. She has something that won't wash off and she isn't worth it.
