Black.... The "One Drop Rule" is still a pretty strong concept in the United States.
Ironically (or not) this seems to get the most traction today in the DNC's identity politics. When they parade Tulsi Gabbard or Rashida Tlaib as "women of color" it's a bit of an eye roller.

I disagree. She is working Bernie's side of the street and will be given every inducement to keep pulling votes away from him right up thru Milwaukee
That test will show whether she's actually committed to the same socialist agenda as comrade B or whether she's just been lying and pandering to what she perceives as the DNC base (like "Harvard, hire me. My name is faux-ca-hauntis"). If she is a committed socialist--and she's acted like one, for as long she's been in Congress--she'll probably get out of the race for the good of the cause, and maybe angle for VP

And some people still think Biden is a moderate.....weird...

”You’re going to help me take care of the gun problem”

    Yikes.

You'd have to have LSD in your Corn Flakes to think that any democrat in the field is anything other than a gun-grabbing nutcase.

It's just proof the Dems realize how truly bat**** crazy their voters are, this day in age. They saw it's mathematically possible for someone with 35% support in their own party to become President, and when you throw in the appeal of free stuff, they knew it's a done deal if they don't act now.

They are not afraid Bernie will lose to Trump. The RC poll average currently shows Bernie beating Trump by the same margin as Biden. They are afraid he will win.

It turns out that there really _is_ a Left version of "NeverTrump."
That's about the same amount of support that Trump had at this point in 2016. They may be trying to learn from history.

Don’t forget the Astoundingly Oblivious Cretin.

Maybe the Democrat Party should restyle itself as the Minimal Dermal Melanin Concentration Party.

So I’m seeing reports that Biden has picked Beto “Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15” O’Rourke to help him dictate gun policy.

Huh...well, that’s really reassuring for what I’ve been told is the most moderate candidate in the democrat field.

If I'm Beto....the last position I'd want in any administration is gun policy. I'd want something with more chance of success, international travel, connections.....

I wouldn't be overly concerned about Beto showing up at your door demanding your AR.

    No, he'd send somebody else.
Just like the rest of them.
The difference is, he's stated his position as being perfectly okay with that.
The others haven't been quite so open.

In the Democrat party, there is no room for pro-life or pro-gun attitudes.

Like most of us, many democrats are not single issue voters. Some are pro-gun and pro-life (though a seemingly constantly growing minority of them are). But they are also pro-union, pro-welfare state, etc. Despite the pretty loud and blatant statements by most (if not all) of their field, they convince themselves either the trade-offs are worth it or gamble that the gun control laws won’t be as bad as everyone is saying they’ll be.

I'm certainly glad you know. What would we do if we had to rely on our own judgement about such things? (clutches pearls and faints)

It's too bad the people that rely on their own (good) judgement are not in charge of the party and it's direction.

Reagan is someone I followed in those gun control discussion years.

The republicans are not as pro-2A as they profess to believe. Not by a long shot.

Thanks, the 20% of us democrats who own guns, the 14% of us who believe abortions should be illegal and the 45% of us who believe abortion should be legal under only certain circumstances have no standing with the current national party and can't stop what the dem party at large is changing into.
