The data you are missing is the fact that an average of 20% of the Trump rallies are registered dems, 26% in AZ last night. There has been a major party realignment in the Trump era. Even the union bosses cannot hold out from their members shift and are, albeit slowly, moving republican. (Public employee unions excepted.) Anyone thinking the voters are the same as 2012 is beginning any calculations with a faulty start.

If you want a candidate who is not at all friendly with the idea of communism, there is precious little choice in the Dem primary lot. It would not surprise me if a lot of Democrats are looking at Trump. He would do well to minimize his behaviors which are a turnoff to them. And, you know, when he gets up to pee at 2AM, leave the phone on the nightstand. Dude is addicted to social media. And he's pretty good at social media if he were just a billionaire real estate mogul and reality TV star. As president, people want someone more even keeled. And it's okay to want a sane president.

Just for the record it seems the consensus is Bloomy is 5'4", I have read reports he is 5'3". In a recent Twitter spat a NYT reporter said she believed this was driving mini-Mike mad based on her 20 years of covering him, she also said he clearly lied on his drivers license when he put 5'10"...

Trump said he was 5'4". But Trump hasn't spoken the truth since he last uttered "Mommy, I need to go potty."

The difference between Communism and Socialism is how it arrives.
Socialism is voted in, Communism comes at the point of a gun; often after Socialism is voted in.

Socialism requires heavy government. It's under the guise of public ownership. But who really owns stuff? Not the people. It's the bureaucrats in government. That kind of system is ripe for a dictatorship takeover.

Used to be that no one thought it could ever happen here. We have our constitution to protect us. We have our American ethos baked in individualism, patriotism and liberty. We say **** you to communism. But then generation after generation of that ethos slowly erodes away as younger generations become more accepting of bigger governments. Immigrants who are more accepting of bigger governments become Americans and they vote that way. And then there's the increasing of socialists teaching future teachers to indoctrinate their students. It's not that we were completely defenseless against the incremental erosion of that American ethos. It's that not enough people saw it coming. And the ones who did didn't have the power to do anything about it. And some of the people who had the power to do something about it were too concerned about their own power.

The Democrats that identify as moderate or centrist are lying to themselves the “big tent” has no spot for common sense. The unions are realizing that the Democrats will cause the loss of good healthcare plans and wage packages.

Bernie is taking a lead and Mini Mike just muddies the water for a time his S*#t the bed performance last night proves he doesn’t have what it takes to be President. It’s a battle between a Old Billionaire and a Old Communist that’s before they even meet the Trump train head on.

IME many people identify as Democrats because that’s how they were brought up “were a Democrat family” that’s great but JFK is gone!
It’s the party of AOC and Bernie now.

    This is so hilarious.

Trump tweets something, anything, and the Democrat/Media Complex goes wild.

Trump tweeted about Bloomberg's height. He could have just as easily tweeted about him being ugly, or a sissy, or dyeing his hair and the result would have been the same.

Trump plays them like a Stradivarius.

But how does this reluctance impact turnout? What candidates can motivate their base to show up and vote?

So you have the hard core right which even if they hold their nose can be motivated to show up and vote for Trump. And Trump can certainly excite and motivate a crowd because he is a showman and understands how to manipulate the media and tweak his opposition.

You have the hard core left who have a dilemma. They hate Trump but many will be butt hurt because their preferred candidate did not survive the dog and pony show. None of the candidates appear to be great motivators so will have a challenge getting kids to change out of their pajamas and leave the basement. If you really "believe" in Bernie and his ideals can you in good conscious vote for the Dem. candidate after they give Bernie the shaft again?

I can only speak for myself, and probably T.Lex, but the butthurt about the primary was completely erased by the thought of getting stuck with Hillary in 2016.

It's conceivable Bernie's groups are more idealistic than pragmatic; but I wouldn't count on it.

You are also correct that dems will get the self described elites indoctrinated by colleges and their core constituency, twitterverse...

 Give it a rest. Not everyone that went to college was "indoctrinated". Since when did education become a bad thing? Do you want Idiocracy to come true? Because that's how you do it.

Regardless of how you view it, the fact is that among college grads, the breakdown was 57% Clinton, 36% Trump. I certainly don't see anything that would push that demographic to Trump, except Bernie.

What part of the word Boomer do you not understand?

Maybe you didn't get my point. I understood your point. You disagreed with Brad that democrats = commies. You gave the Boomer example of Democrats who hate communism. Which I acknowledged. I'm just saying that boomers don't matter to the future of Democrats. The younger generations are becoming more and more accepting of socialism, and even communism. Boomers aren't the deciders anymore. Your party isn't what it was, and likely never will be what you want it to be. Bernie and AOC are the future of the Democratic Party unless something changes the minds of younger people.

So while I think Brad is wrong, that Democrats =/= communists. The extent to which they are socialists or communists is alarming. I don't know if that can be fixed.

"good" socialism :poop: goes to socialism :poop::poop: goes to dictatorship :poop::poop::poop: goes to :poop:-hole country :poop::poop::poop::poop:

and this is what the dumocraps are selling.

No, what they're SELLING is "You can have everything you want and the rich capitalists are going to pay for it."

It's just that what they're selling doesn't exist. It's like connecting a motor to a generator, giving it a spin, and expecting it to run forever and power your house, too.

If you google it, it's 5'8. Trump is 6'3. Bloomy would look like a troubled teen next to Trump on stage. Unless they both stood on their money. Bloomy would be way taller then.

Trump plays them like a Stradivarius.

I posted the following around Super Bowl when this first came up and it has been so true.

After the Trump tweet about Bloomberg negotiating for a box or to wear lift shoes CNN actually did a fact check on the subject thereby putting it in the liberal news. In another case of Trump out maneuvering the media, in their zeal to do a cheap story about how Trump is wrong, the media will be checking if Bloomberg will try to get a box or wear lift shoes. If he does Trump is right, if he doesn't Trump will tower over him in debates because Bloomberg is 7 inches shorter.

By giving the media this bait he put himself in a can't lose position...

I can think of a few, but those countries had severe problems that couldn't be addressed through socialism. They also had a past replete with (near-)dictatorships.

    I don't foresee Sweden becoming a dictatorship.

This is true. Their open acceptance of socialism is alarming. It's not a majority, but there's also no hiding it anymore.

And why would I believe a politicized Google?

Haberman, who previously covered mayoral politics for The New York Post and The New York Daily News, referred to the moment when Bloomberg reportedly listed himself as 5 foot, 10 inches on his driver's license. Bloomberg's doctor said in December that the former mayor is actually 5 foot, 7 inches, a few inches taller than Trump's claim, according to a letter released by the campaign.

A 5'8" guy is not generally that sensitive to height as a truly short guy...
