For the same price, I see the Nikon options that Areo mentioned also. Ironically, they're all $399...

Yes, that would be a fine camera. Nikon is the only other brand I would recommend. Either option would be good for what you’re wanting.

Is it worth the extra $50 for this bundle on Amazon? I would assume there are some things that are a must have, like a memory card and cleaning kit, but not sure about the other items. Apologies, going into this blindly.

This doesn't include the longer focal length zoom lens......and the accessories are very budget items. No....this package is NOT a good deal, IMO.

I honestly like the other one because the zoom lens it comes with. Memory cards are a whole lot cheaper than they used to be. All that other stuff is handy but with the 70-300mm lens in the other kit, there’s more shooting distance options.

I don’t know the last time I used my small lens. I suppose it depends on what your shooting though, close up with people the 18-55 would be more useful.
