From the GOA...let your representatives know what you think of the houses' assault weapons ban bill.

    Morning, Mr. WT.

Hope all of yours (and those also herein) were unaffected by the mall shooting.

My wife was at the Greenwood Mall about 2PM yesterday..... it's only about 6 miles from us. My daughter lives even closer, and we reached out via phone, to make sure that she was safe.
The whole event is a bit close for comfort !

I concur. I was just remarking the other day how kids once roamed (on bikes) the streets and neighborhoods of our little "Southside". A rare sight today. It just isn't safe.

I'll keep my assumption as to why to myself. A shame we can't even let our kids be kids without fear of harm from these ********.

    Rant over.

I surmise that there are precious few places in the USA where safety is truly attainable ...... maybe in nowhere Montana or Idaho (?).
I hate to admit it, but I'm likely too old to move that far away, and start over. :(

Let's perk-up, Peep/Holes !!!! (my fond tribute to the Deacon)
I don't think that I showed you gangsters my latest acquisition from the far geologic past.
This "palm stone" is a section of bone from a BIG creature that lived about 170 million years ago. It's totally fossilized, and even the edges have been polished. It feels nice to hold in the hand .... and magically makes anyone holding it feel much younger !

The Altasaurus was about 55' long, and weighed 20 tons. To support it's huge neck, it had a stacked (four of them) vertebrae structure. You can see the pattern on the 2nd photo that I took .... it appears that a big nerve bundle could pass through that circular opening.
