They used a 48 hour Holter monitor on me and it was the only 48 hours I didn't have any PVC's. I bought a Kardia Mobil EKG and recorded the episodes for several days and showed them to the Cardiologist. My cardiologist went from "meh...it's normal" to "damn...that ain't right" in a hurry.
When that happened, i always gave my patient the option for a 30 day monitor. In a few cases we implanted a loop recorder which usually lasted 1-2 years.

Edir: This was prior to Kardia and Apple watches did ekgs. The last few years I practiced patients emailed ekgs from their devices all the time. Many times it was a rhythm we called crapicardia (movement artifact, computers are not yet thet good at reading rhythms).

Hi guys. Been a little absent from here. Been watching the Russia/Ukraine and China/Taiwan problems. Has me worried, although I know it's nothing I can change.

WW3, possibility of being drafted if they raise the age, of course nuclear. Strange times.

Two years ago I started having an extreme amount of PVC's. The cardiologists spent a year testing and experimenting ending in the cath lab and they found no reason or med to stop it. Went to my GP and told him I thought it was likely caused by anxiety. He put me on an anti-anxiety med and the PVC's went away. They finally kicked up again 3 weeks ago and we adjusted the med. Got my fingers crossed.

I have had GERD for a few decades and now have an irritated area in my stomach. It is interesting that you SIL made a connection between the stomach problem and PVC's. None of my docs have mentioned that possibility. I think they all get too wrapped up in their specialties and very few of then look at the whole picture.

Best of luck to both of us.
There's a very good book called 'Range' that discusses this phenomenon. In it, it points out that you are statistically more likely to survive a major cardiac event during a national cardiac surgeon convention when most specialists are away from the job. Specialists tend to get very good at their specialty while ignoring other systems

Do not obsess over things you have no control over. Turn off the radio and TV and do things that you CAN control. Service to others always helps me focus on something good.
Worry is 100% non-productive. If trouble comes knocking, we'll band together and deal with it the best we can.

0830 has a valid point ..... the current events can drive you nuts if you watch it unfold minute-by-minute.

I'm not trying to be an 'important person', or pound my own drum, but I went through some harrowing times during my six years attached to the Air Force.
I was stationed at Beale AFB, CA, during the so-called October War, that happened in late 1974.
As a Nuclear Weapons Specialist (463), I personally was part of a team that set the parameters, then uploaded the MK28's to (6) B-52's that sat 'all 8 engines running' on the alert pad for a few days.
From our underground structure, the ground was literally shaking for days !
    It was quite unnerving.

If you chase the SAC documents, most of it is still redacted, but here's an official page that talks a bit about the change in the readiness level that occurred.

This SAC history includes details on the Command’s DEFCON 3 operations during the October War. Because they are scattered throughout a very-long history, for ease of use the respective portions on alert operations for bombers and ICBMs during Fiscal Year 1974 are excerpted here along with some of the front matter.
The section on continuity of operations, which discusses the problem of implementing the plan during the DEFCON, has interesting coverage of the airborne command-and-control platform codenamed “Looking Glass” and a succession of command issues. The discussion of bomber alert operations during the DEFCON is scattered over several pages and is heavily excised at crucial points. The highest number of alert B-52s and FB-111s during the DEFCON 3 remains classified, but it was likely in the range of 100

Just received my IPSC Alex gas pedal. I got it installed. Had to use a couple washers I had in the extra everything bowl in the garage to space it out some. It was either that or modify it to fit and that wasn't a viable option to me. Will get a couple black washers here in the near future but it's installed and works amazingly. Not that it was completely necessary but I thought if I was going to have one might as well have one that works. Doesn't look too bad either.
