Just got back from the range. Monica's son wanted to take his new SA Operator 1911 to try it out, so we put about 215 rounds through it. Very nice gun. On the way out of the range, we stopped and fondled the new SA Garrison. Very nice gun as well.

When I had a SA 1911 it had target sights and just never warmed up to them. It shot really well, but the sights and low number of rounds that I could carry in it is what kept me from keeping it. It sure was a pleasure to shoot!

When I had a SA 1911 it had target sights and just never warmed up to them. It shot really well, but the sights and low number of rounds that I could carry in it is what kept me from keeping it. It sure was a pleasure to shoot!

This model and the model I have (Sig Sauer Scorpion 1911) have standard 3 dot target sights. The low number of rounds doesn't make much difference since we have them just as range guns, not carry guns.

I'm not a wing guy, but love to go in order to get their Hot Sicilian sandwich with cole slaw...

Oh yeah. I prefer to not go out when it drops under 40...
