Been smiling at this pic all day. Opa and his buddy this morning.

I asked if he wanted me to turn the heat up. He said no, he's always cold. I now know why:

"Sometime in the early 60's we were doing cold weather training in Germany (he was E6 specialist in the Army). One night I forgot to put my boots in my sleeping bag and they froze. By the time I got them on I was numb. I went to go to the 'warm up tent' and some dumbass forgot to tend the fire and burnt it down. There I was freezing to death over smoldering canvas and rubble, with frozen boots in sub-zero temps. I never really thawed out since that day."

It kind of worries me that he didn't give much of a report on his condition (which is certainly his prerogative) .... but I wasn't exactly encouraged.

Me too. He hasn't had much to say this evening. Every time I find out that someone I know has it I get nervous. My son is a teacher and he went home early today with a fever. He got tested but won't get the results for 2-3 days. This crap is very unpredictable.
