Doesn't really count when you sell 2 out of the 3 in 3 weeks, plus sold a few other guns.

    1. Yes, it counts; if I find a "better" gun, I buy it and sell the "other" one.
    2. I only have 1 "home defense" gun. I have had everything from a Taurus .357 to S/W 4" .38s, to the Taurus Judge, and probably more, but I now have the Ruger Security Six. If I find something else, I will sell it and buy the other.
    3. B/C of money, I can't keep all that I've bought, and just like the Ruger P89 I just sold: after getting the CZs: it was not going to be used anymore, therefore, time to go.

glad I’m not the only one that thinks this

    4. Sounds like I've been tried, weighed in the balances and found guilty.
    5. I am guilty, and I am enjoying my guilty path. Time is limited. All this could come to a halt when life necessitates.

Didn’t doddg just buy that sp-01? What’s wrong with it? Seems odd to sell it for a shadow so quickly. Once you drop in the CGW guts and get the wizard to love on it, the sp-01’s are fully up to snuff.

    4. I bought the 75 B Omega. I liked it. A member let me shoot the SP-01. I liked it "better" (I liked it, enough reason).
    5. Then a member had me shoot their Shadow 2 and I liked it better than both of the other CZs.
    6. If I would have known, I could have jumped directly to the Shadow. Why is that an issue to go in baby steps just b/c it took 1 or 2 weeks? It is simply growth and progression.
    7. I tried other 1911s, and even bought one. They didn't do anything for me, regrettably, b/c that will only alienate me further from the 1911 crowd.

The man is still feeling his way through the maze. If you have followed his progress (he is not shy about sharing it at all..:):) that he has even stepped into the price point is in and of itself pretty amazing.
If he ever really gets to run some true hot rods he will need a cardiac response team...:):

    8. Truth. I don't know what I'm missing. I hope when I get to try someone's "Wizard" treated gun that I don't sell my wife's car to pay for upgrades.
    9. In my circles I am known for my conservatism and caution and discipline. You have seen none of that here b/c this is my HOBBY, for FUN, and I am enjoying it at 110 mph like I do life. The money will come to an end soon enough. When I end up buying my wife her SUV, and if I have to replace my S2000 for a car that my arthritic-infested body will allow me entry, I might have to sell everything since I don't believe in debt and the evil demon of interest. Hopefully, I'll be able to come to some compromise when the time comes where they lock the doors at work and won't let me in.

I kinda sorta understand why he is taking the path that he is. It is not the path I would choose but whatever floats your boat. He might have needed medical attention today if he had been with us at AB today. The selection was quite nice. I was able to shoot several of the Wizards guns and also got to shoot the Redhead. I also have a new found appreciation for the Phantom.

    10. I would love to be at a gathering where these "specialized" weapons are displayed.
    11. I'm afraid I'd never be happy again, and I would have to be revived by the latest in medical machinery.
    12. I wonder if the Phantom would be loved even though it is "just" a polymer, like I love my FNS Longslide: I hear so much love for it!

He's trying to find the Holy Grail, the Shadow 2 might be it for him. He doesn't seem all that interested in having guns upgraded, probably because the resale value isn't there when compared to stock/unmolested guns.....this isn't new news to anyone in here as we all know that you don't get your money back from upgrades, which is why we like to keep the nice pieces within the group so they will be fully appreciated.

    13. No! I know I can't afford and/or will pay the price for the "Holy Grail."
    14. The Shadow is probably at the top of the line of how far I'll go, but who knows: it's been 15 months and I went from $200 guns to $300 guns to $400 guns to $500 guns to $900+ guns ( the Shadow 2 I intend to get Monday is $950). I kind of skipped over the $600-$800 b/c of believing the propoganda on the CZ thread since some of the people selling it where people I've grown to respect and believe: a big step for a person with trust issues!).
    15. As far as I'm concerned: I'm done! I can't believe I'm not waiting to get the Shadow until next summer and just enjoy my 75 and SP: that was my intention.
    16. But, I realized I could just sell some of what I have and get right to it.
    17. You are exactly right about selling upgraded guns. I've always been the type to not put leather seats and the like into a Corolla, but buy a stripped-down more expensive model. (that was a car analogy)
    18. If I upgrade my SP-01 and turn it into a $1000 gun, I still have a nice $500 gun to sell. If I buy a $1000 Shadow, I still have at least a $900 gun a year from now.
    19. In my mind I have not lost it and lost control: it's all planned and under control b/c I am not "upside-down" in my gun purchases. In fact, the Ruger P89 I bought for $200, and sold for $275 after months of enjoying it. I could go on with a dozen other examples. I've only lost on 2 guns and broken even on a few, and made $25-$50 on some: all acceptable to me.
    20. The real expense is the ammo. I bought 9000 rounds today of 9mm and .22LR, so you can imagine how the charges of "cheap" are laughable in my world: just b/c I don't want to spend thousands on one gun that would be worth 1/2 when sold. Either I'm selling my guns or my wife of kids will when I die: don't want to waste my capital.

Yep, he's done like 20 years of gun transitions in the last 18 months or so. It is a bit difficult to keep up with where he is in the maze on any given day.

    21. 15 months and I keep strict track of my transactions. You are too conservative. I have bought 3 guns in 1 week before. Just 2 this week, 2 last week, or was that 3? I'd have to check my records.
    22. Yes, I'm a 110 mph type of guy. If I had the resources you would not believe what I'm capable of. On a teacher salary (1/2 what I make now) I owned 5 or 6 antique cars, all in my driveway at once (some were always at a repair shop or being sold to pay for the next one: see a pattern?).
    23. I believe the expression is: "force of nature." You need it if you are going to control 240 inner city teenagers in one day and survive with a smile. I did get some heart damage with the stress however.

    24. This whole INGO thing has been soooo much fun. I appreciate those of you who have been helpful, and I learn from the critics too, just not as much fun.

It doesnt take long to know if I like a gun or not. And I will buy guns just to try and see if I like them to keep or not. That's called a hobby.
You can research on paper a gun all day long and even watch other people review it but their experiences are based only on their feel and previous encounters. How something feels to me and what I like is totaly different than what someone elses are. I am VERY picky. I like the best period. I am a gun snob because once you've shot awesome guns why in the hell would you want to go back to crap guns again? Not me.

Also, guns are fun. Guns are exciting and new. When that wears off I want to have that new feeling again. Like escorts and strippers. Change em up. I collected baseball cards as a kid. Always had to keep getting the new ones. I like the hunt and the chase too.
Some people want to hoard all of one kind. Some people build sets. Some people collect each year a gun was made. Some people want one of each type. I dont realy know what I want until I have it and then it either grows on me and I keep loving it and never want to get rid of it and in that case it goes into a different safe. Or if I'm undecided and not sure it goes into the safe that can be traded or sold to acquire guns I want to repeat the process.
I think even If I had a lot of money I would still operate this way. Its just the way I am with firearms. I just have to shoot them and then I will know. Some I shoot and there is no way it will ever leave me.
Other hobbies I have, when I buy something I buy it to keep. I dont sell it, like my game used baseball stuff, Unless I bought it with the intention to sell or trade and use towards another item of the same hobby.but that is very rare. Havent done it in a while

Hey left nut. Hey right nut. Look who's in the middle :):
    ****?

I know what I like. I was stuck on what I like. CZ's are new to me. I'm still learning. I really like the p10c. The phantom and p07 are hit and miss some days i loke them. Some days I don't.

I love glocks. I like m&ps. The CZs are new and exciting. I pretty much hate everything else. I do have a soft spot for 1911s.

    Morning all... :coffee:

Yup. I have a safe full of mine and both of their work. Hard to pick out a favorite.

I do have this stellar "Blued" 97 with a Wizard installed SAO only trigger group.....

    You know of the gun...:)

I really, really like that 97 :yesway:

Yep, he's done like 20 years of gun transitions in the last 18 months or so. It is a bit difficult to keep up with where he is in the maze on any given day.

So who's going to get him started on AR's? :stickpoke:

Reminds me of when a buddy of mine bought his first gun. Another buddy of mine and I took him to the 1500 and opened his eyes to what was out there. We lost him down the rabbit hole a bit after that... :):

It’s tough keeping up with this group. I wish that I had the ability to move guns that I don’t shoot anymore on to new owners. Instead, I tend to push the to the back of the safe or loan them to my sons.

I don’t think that I have anything that I don’t care fo anymore though. The bottom of the pile right now is a Kimber Compact in stainless. I do need to get off of my backside and finish Cajunizing what I have.

I'm trying to talk my wife into moving. Well I have been for a while.
Heres my line: either I'm gonna spend a lot of money on some land with trees and be gone a lot, or you can agree to let me buy a house in the middle of the trees where you can live with me and our kids will be happy and we can rent out the old one, you pick"

    I think it's working:):
Her main concerns are, she wants to give a house to our daughter when she turns 18, and she is terrified, and I mean you havent seen a human move so fast terrified as when she sees a snake. Flight or fight? Yeah actual flight!!! Like feet off the ground flying.
Get over it, snakes are in the city too. I'll try to intercept but I'm not staying in the ****ing city much longer.
