Been taking it easy all day and the shoulder is feeling a bit better. I hope it heals quickly as right now, I cannot lift it more than a few degrees. That really gets in the way of shooting unless I want to go cowboy style. Nah, even that involves more shoulder movement than I can manage at the moment.

    Damn-it man.

Barb has been going to the physical terrorist for about three weeks for her shoulder. She looks like an olympic gymnast with the pink magic tape on her shoulder. ;) I'm sure they'll have a more manly color for Tim. :stickpoke:

If it's not better by tomorrow, I'll make an appointment to have it checked out. I've always been really, really reluctant to call in the doctors if there's a chance to heal normally. Doctors like to cut stuff and I don't like being the stuff they cut. But, we'll see how it feels tomorrow.

Personally I do not trust anyone that "Practices" something that took 8 years of college to master.

I’d take my chances with a doctor.

I tore my shoulder up (twice actually) in my younger days; never went to the doctor and now I have all kinds of shoulder and elbow issues.

    YMMV

Both my shoulders needed surgery for rotator's. In the mid 90's it was a 6 month rehab. I did not have 6 months to give back then.

I'll probably make an appointment tomorrow to have it looked at. Work is awfully busy though, so not sure how the time will be found for stuff like that though.

I'm not fond of doctors, myself ..... and hold off as long as I can.
However, sometimes it's the only logical choice.
No matter what, good luck to you, Tim.

My right shoulder is jacked up. Twisted tendons pulling it out of place. Several years ago I consulted a specialist. He told me surgery won't help much so live with it until I can't live with it, then get help. Physical therapy helps some.

    Good luck to you Tim.

    1. I feel for you! Makes me wince just to hear you describe it.
    2. I remember not being able to lift my arm out of the car window to get the mail out of the mailbox or barely put on a jacket: frustrating!
    3. Not being able to enjoy shooting is insult to injury.
    4. Mine was a partially torn rotator cuff. I can't even hang from a bar anymore (not that I could do any chin-ups at this point anyway).
    5. Had to have shots and steroids a couple of times b/c of intense pain, and now I just be very careful about using it, but it took time to heal (don't want to discourage you so I won't say how long :ugh: ).
    6. In my case I was able to keep away from surgery, but sometimes that is the long-term repair, unfortunately.

Doctors suck. Insurance sucks. That is all.

As someone who spent way too many years working for insurance companies and now works for a large hospital, I have to say I wholeheartedly agree. It shouldn't cost what it costs to be treated. While I'm not a proponent of socialized medicine in any way shape or form, the system we have is very, very broken. The hold healthcare/insurance and drug companies have over the system is complete and utter BS.
