Wow, that really turned out nice T-Dogg. I had forgotten that was even possible to do. I have 3 ARs in FDE and might give that a shot if I get tired of that color. How long did it have to soak?

I picked up a NIB un-fired MC Operator today from the original owner.

Now, what to do "Too" it

I like the old advice of shoot it and let it tell you what it needs. Unless you are talking about what color to have it cerakoted in. Guns have no taste, so don't listen to what they say about that.

Basically get the water hot as hell but not boiling, then soak/swish for one minute, remove and rinse immediately with cool water.

I try to do this anytime I get something new. But every once in awhile I forget and start the upgrades first.

    This one is un-fired.
The trigger is very nice for OOTB factory.
It is black slide on an olive frame. I think it is olive anyway.
    Damn nice looking pistol.

I am taking it out for a run this coming Sat. Then we will see.
I am sure EGW ignition pieces will be part of the plan.
And a set of those Turkish hardwood grips from Brownells. Not the same ones I put on my "Other" MC Operator.

If I could purchase two 1911s right now it would be a lightweight commander and a full size railed version.

First year I can remember that I haven't blown anything up on the 4th... Must be something wrong with me? I didn't buy any. Thought about hitting the range today, but just wasn't in the mood and Travis denied me...

It sounds like a damn war zone in my neighborhood. I think it has caused me PTSD. I'm calling off sick tomorrow. ;)

    :coffee: Morning
Slept like crap last night, fireworks (and I mean some serious fireworks) didn't stop until almost 1 or so in the morning. I'm not saying I'm against them, it just sucks trying to sleep through it.

I've been thinking about a C02 powered pistol ever since Rusty posted a few links not too long ago. It could be a useful training tool here at my house since I already have a little target area setup in my backyard. I think the wife and the daughter would really like it (okay mostly me).

This company, ASG, is making a bunch of really cool things:

I think I am going to cease and desist on the 75d compact project. There comes a time when you have to admit the gamble didn't pay off.
