For anybody interested, I heard back from CZ-USA about the P-01 Omega. They said they aren't expected to ship for another 4-6 weeks. I was told I could pre-order from some of the dealers on their website. I think I might be able to wait a couple of months to get an Omega.

    Good information, thanks! :yesway:

    Hmm, sorry about that. ;)

I was having some serious second thoughts about that while I was dropping the EB off. I seem to be unable to make my mind up towards how I want the collection to evolve. A part of me want to let the lesser stuff go and only keep truly nice weapons like the Dan Wessons and Ed Brown but another part of me does not enjoy shooting factory stock guns that someone else made into what they are. The EB was a gun that I could do little to make it my own. Even the grips on it were about the best I could want, so there seemed to be little room to personalize it without coming up with a lesser result. But, I like shooting what I build and that one just did not get shot much.

I love reclamation projects. Of course, I don't do any of the work myself. I don't have the talent for that stuff. But, I love taking something old and used up, to most people's eyes, and turning into something special. I'd much rather have an old gun than a new one.

Thanks for the link. I don't know if I want it already upgraded buy the CGW guys or if I'd like to have the stock trigger first.

As I mentioned earlier, I'd live with the stock trigger first, shoot the daylights out of it, then Cajonize it once a part fails (or sooner if you like). I'd also let llh1956 do the work... he did both of mine, and they turned out quite brilliantly. You'll save a bit doing it this way with an experienced CZ guy who has Cajonized many a CZs for members in this thread.

I'd have to let llh1956 recommend the upgrade path, as I'm not familiar with the Omega system options. At a minimum, I think replacing the stock firing pin with an extended version is a great idea. I don't know how the trigger return spring is with Omega models, but it's reported to be a weakish point on standard CZ models.
