I have a friend on Wawasee. He only goes out M-F on non-holiday weekends. The neighbors next door to his lake home have a pontoon, speedboat, See-Doo jet boat and….

    8 jet skis!!!!
    Talk about an armada….
    Especially busy during the holidays.

2 Yamaha GPR 1800s, a 26 foot JC tri-toon, and the ‘74 Century Resorter = plenty of fun.

But .9 miles per gallon in the century with its Chrysler 440:(

Lake Wawasee is so nice during the week. Just a whole lot busier on nice weekends.

I spend a lot of time AROUND Wawasee during the week. Haven’t been on the water in decades.

My step grandfather used to have a place on the lake. We would go up mid week. Leave the weekends to him. One of the many dumb things I’ve done was not buying that house when he sold it. 150’ of lake frontage and a modern home for the family price of $250,000 in 1998. Dumb dumb dumb.

The friends that I stay with live on the channel just off Conklin Bay on Harkless.

Their assessment went up 100% from two years ago.

I'll look for the Century next time past. :-)

    100%....not surprised. I just looked at a $5,000,000 property there....IN INDIANA!!!!!!!!!!

The secondary lakes have been just as insane though at "smaller" numbers.

This one belonged to the Marsh (grocery) family. It was originally Marsh avocado green, ugly.
They had the hull redone this green, had and had the stringers reinforced.

It’s almost back together now. I wired the engine/ignition electrical for them and just got it fired up for the first time in years. It’s supposed to be in the water by memorial day.

Depending on location, those 150 feet of lakefront on that Wawasee “pond” go from a minimum of $15k to $25k…. PER FOOT!!!…. then we evaluate the home…..
