After reviewing pics again of the KDS9 and the Wilson Combat SFX9, the WC SFX9 is textured aluminum grip with no grip panels. The Kimber KDS9 is aluminum with grip panels. That’s probably why the Kimber feels thicker.

I seen this at Tractor Supply today.
I need something simple to put a few rifles in when company comes especially grandchildren.
I don't need anything more than to keep children and lazy opportunistic thieves from getting my home defense rifles, and soon shotgun.
Are these decent enough for that role?

My one experience with Kimber was during their low point….
If you’re looking for a locking cabinet, I’d say yes.
If you’re looking for a safe, I’d say no.
Just a cabinet is what I'm looking for to keep certain hands off them.
Even a safe won't keep a thief who has the right tools, and the time to get into it out. Nor will most safes protect its contents from fire.

For a gun that's 5 to 10 years too late, that price doesn't surprise me. They need to come out with the P10MV2 which holds at least 12 rounds in order to have a competitive micro 9.

If it held 10 rounds, I’d be temped but I already have enough low capacity semi-autos
I figure that gun was already in the pipeline and they figured they'd still release it and see if they could recoup any of the money spend on the R&D and manufacturing.
We had our first $400 grocery bill for one weeks stuff a couple of weeks back. It does change your perspective on the price of a good gun after that. I used to use $250 as a yardstick for purchasing stuff on a whim because I'd say "That's less than the cost of a good dinner out". Now, it's up to $400.
The prices on both of the guns I listed above reflect the changing market I think. The P10S is the non-OR model. The P10M is, if nothing else, a cheap pocket pistol or maybe a good tackle box gun. At that price, they would make good stocking stuffers at Christmas.
