Hmm, may be a big deal...

Anti-Trump delegate Beau Correll wins. Court blocks VA delegate binding law. Fed. judge rules that Virginia delegate to convention cannot be bound to vote for Trump on first vote

Is this a delegate that Trump legitimately won in the primary due to votes from the primary voters?
If so, and he won't vote for Trump, why have a primary?
Why go with will of the voters? Shouldn't the party elite just pick the candidate?
We could have had Jeb! Dang.

    Probably state law dependent.

Conceptually though, it could be used to release other delegates in states that bind their delegates. Like Indiana.

Still doesn't make it a good idea, though.

The rules for how a party selects its candidate shouldn't be mingled with state or federal law other than some obvious regulations that should apply equally to all parties.

I'd really like the US to decouple it's tight integration of parties with federal and state laws. If parties want to conduct national primaries or caucuses to elect delegates, that's fine, but the process should be conducted and funded by the parties and not tax payers.

Rachel Hoff, 1st openly gay GOP platform member, made the case for a neutral platform plank on gay marriage.

    GOP Platform Committee rejected it.

    .
Curious to see how many times big money doesn't pick the candidate.
