I understand the need for rules to keep things in some form of organization and uniformity. The only thing I don't understand is why you can't ask the seller a question in the classified thread. If you have a question many others may have the same question and if you have to send a PM to ask said question the seller would be getting a lot of PMs with the same question. Starting another thread to ask a question about an ad in the classifieds is crazy to me. There would be all sorts of useless threads taking up band width and causing confusion IMO. All this could be avoided by allowing pertinent questions to be asked. It could be limited to asking a particular question once per thread/item. It's your forum and you can set the rules, I just don't understand the touchiness in regards to the Classifieds. :twocents:

this is the only part im confused over aswell. i know i wont knowingly break the rules but might on acident.

the way i read it, i sell a glock. and say colt 556 asks what gen it is. i need to edit the original post instid of making a new post. am i reading corretly? dont take this as complaining about new rules im just making sure i understand

Right. You, as the creator of the thread, need to be putting your info in the top post. Otherwise, it's considered a bump and must follow the bump rules (24 hours after the last post in the thread). Otherwise what happens is that people leave half the info out, so buyers have to ask a bunch of questions, and then the sellers answer in the thread. We've had people do this in the past to "game" the rules. You end up with threads bumped dozens of times per day, which isn't fair to other sellers.

    BOO no more rulez!

JK Jk I have yet to use to classifieds to be honest.

I do think you should move it from 50 quality posts to: 50 quality posts and 50 post whore posts but that is just me.

I don't get the rule, if you don't have pics you must put this in your ad. Hmm. If there are no pics in the ad assume I have no pics. Doesn't seem to difficult.

You pull this about every 2-3 months on INGO but you never stop posting... :dunno:

Because when someone posts an ad with no pics with in the hour you will have at least one members asking

    "got pics"

Then the OP replies with yes, no, my camera is broke, I don't know how, I'm putting them up tonight etc.

These useless posts are eliminated by the author posting pics with the ad or mentioning there are no pics.

    :D:D:D:D

Fenway, for the record, while I don't agree with every single rule you and your team have created, I have no problem playing by them and feel that they are by and large fair and reasonable for keeping this place very high functioning, especially as compared to a lot of places on the net.

Geez, the rules here are WAY more lax than some gun boards' classifieds. *cough* ARF *cough* And on some sites *cough* you'll get the hammer if you don't follow the rules, no questions asked. It really isn't that hard, and it makes the board easier to follow, and it levels the playing field for all users. :twocents: :ingo:

Guys COME ON!!! Please either report the post for not having pictures OR PM the guy but quit bumping the thread saying it's worthless without pics or to please post pics. And if someone else has already asked for pics don't you do it too. Sigh..... I just found 1 ad with 3 requests for pics.. one of which may have been an accidental double tap... sigh...
