I built this gun about 2 years ago. Assembled the lower and put on a palmetto state armory upper. Dad and I finally got around to rattle canning it today.

Here it is all cleaned up and ready to start.

Here it is with the brake taped off and on the little rig that dad and I whipped up today.

Here is the gun after the first coat of white for a base coat.

And here is yours truly with it after the first coat. :rockwoot:

    Second coat of white

Here's the fun part. We (dad) bought a laundry bag at meijer for the pattern. I started spraying away.

    First side done.

Here, we got all finished with the blue and decided to get out the grey and there was no nozzle on the spray can. :( so, dad is going to go swap it out at Walmart tomorrow so we can finish it up.

Overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out so far. I am excited to get the grey on it to finish it up.

The laundry bag netting effect is sweet.

I tried an old football jersey netting. Too tight a pattern and looked like a blob of small diamonds.
Tried a temporary nylon fence netting, way too big unless used as a base coat.

Looking forward to the grey and the finished pics.:yesway:

Luckily for us walmart was out of the color that he wanted. :( Looks like dad is going to the other walmart this morning on the way home. We will get this thing finished sooner or later. :)

Great little DIY project! Even better that it is a Father / Son project!!!

Love the way this is looking and wondered why you decided to lay it down on it's side instead of leaving it on your jig?

Dad to the rescue. County line walmart had the color and the clear in stock. They also have several 50 packs of CCI Quiet in stock at $3.27 each, Limit one as of 9:00 this morning.

We decided to lay it on the side because the mesh just didn't want to cooperate with us while it was up in the air.
