I love ingo, i love the political section, over the past few weeks i've been reading a lot on here and everything i see pisses me off and makes me depressed about who is in charge of this country and what the left is doing daily to screw us over. I'm sick of reading what i already know yet somehow cant stop checking the section.."to see what obama did today". I think i'm just gonna stop reading it all and just say bye bye to what we once knew. it was fun right!?!? now its a willful destruction of freedom and the transition to tyranny through lies and deceit. I thought i'd just blow off some steam i guess. They openly mock, hate, abuse, and screw us over and use the gov'ts powers to do so while we do nothing. I almost wish we would all get together and put a stop to it, i think thats coming and the only real way to stop it, voting obviously is a sham, we know they cheat, we know our votes mean nothing in national elections, the fed is too big, i just wish it would all end. well have a great memorial weekend!!

sometimes I think that its already too late. too many folks riding in the wagon, and not enough pulling it. fewer and fewer people who care about the issues of liberty and personal responsibility. Government that has no fear of its citizenry. We are headed for another revolution, but there will be much more pain first

eh ya let politics get ya down. ive been there too. its cyclical for me. at the moment,i have way too much going on to really invest myself. i pay attention sure, but right now i have too much going on to be that concerned. ive done my part on my issues, made sure our senators and my rep knows my stance, thats all i can do atm.

FWIW, i hold something true - if you're not pissed off, you're not paying attention.

that said. there are better things to do for me. i'll do as i ****ing please one way or another.

Historians 100 years from now will write that we did this to ourselves. Want someone to blame? WE ARE TO BLAME. This great experiment in Democracy, a Representative Republic unlike the world had yet seen, will soon be no more. We killed it. We are to blame....

I don't disagree that this forum is overrun with those who see doom and gloom around every corner. If you google search the site for various strings like "society collapses"; "economic collapse"; "Obama is a socialist"; etc, you get essentially the same threads started by the same sort of people year after year. Everyone predicts a downfall, no one specifies a date, and the cycle repeats. Throw in a bunch of partisan elbowing and you have the bulk of what appears here.

Does anyone want to be truly free? No. They just want people to do the things they approve of and no do the things they don't approve of. They vote accordingly and turn their heads when liberty is eroded elsewhere.

My theory is the people who post here slowly move over to what I've seen described as the "dystopian fantasy forums" - i.e. the Survival Forum.

You asked a question " does anyone want to be truly free?" that is a great question, it depends how you look at it. We should be free as long as we arent hurting someone else in the general sense of it. Of course being free doesnt mean you get to kill someone if you dont like them of course. Our constitution got it right, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. murder, stealing, is wrong, etc, of course. being free of GOVERNMENT is the real issue. I havent lived through a lot, but what i see today is beyond horrible. Do you think everyone predicts a downfall because the country has been continuously declining over the past what, 30 years? maybe more? And every administration its gets worse faster and faster? Countries around the world are now stealing money from citizens bank accounts, muslims are killing people all over the world while gov'ts dont blame them they blame themselves? Everyone is beyond broke and in debt, the U.N. is about to try and regulate our guns? I mean lets get serious, has it ever been this bad? This seems as though we cant come back from this at all. and when obamacare takes full affect, we are bankrupt, all of our actions are gov't controlled and we are tracked and accounted for. Why are they building fema camps all over the country? Sorry, there are just too many things happening all at the same time.

Bingo,Pinchaser; we did do it to ourselves.

WE DID NOT DO THIS TO OURSELVES, real americans did not do this. How many elections are stolen? How many illegals vote and democrats win? How many corrupt liberal immigrants who realize they can vote D and get money have come to this country to join the takers, did this? STOP BLAMING YOURSELF, did you do this? NO, did I?? NO, did illegals? YES, did minorities who were raised to hate whites do this? YES, did republicans free slaves yet are now called racist do this? NO. i'm so sick of people blaming "us", no way in hell did i do this and no way in hell did YOU do this. its very clear, liberals and conservatives are as different as good and evil. THEY did this, not you. so please stop saying we.

The "Right" is just as much to blame as the left.

So they spent 5 trillion a year we didnt have? So they passed obamacare? So they are trying to take your guns? So they are raising your taxes? So they are denying your right to religion and free speech? I mean come on, no party is perfect, but holy crap, to say the right is the same as the left is seriously laughable. I guess lowering taxes is the same as raising them to you? I get people hate politicians, but the left and right are very different. yes bush did a few things that suck, but he did a few very good things as well, as did his party. The "right" fought for you gun rights, and so far have succeeded. there are a few "republicans" that call themselves republicans that are really democrats-mccain is a classic example, but thats all they are, republicans in name only.

Do you think everyone predicts a downfall because the country has been continuously declining over the past what, 30 years?

I'm not sure what has been in decline. Life expectancy is up, crime is down, various attempts at quantifying happiness suggest that is up, infant survival is up, real income is generally up, social mobility is up...I have a telephone that fits in my pocket that allows me to search nearly the sum of all of mankind's knowledge within a few seconds, with no real restrictions...

Everyone tells me everything is bad, but everything around me is good. Sure there are injustices and impingements on my liberty that I want to see removed...but I'm freer than almost any other human who ever lived. It might be that I can get myself into some kind of indentured servitude via spending more than I make, or I can screw up and become the focus of authoritarians looking to exercise their power, but that has always been the case and probably more so in the past than now. Most certainly there is work left to do but give up? I don't think so.

Everyone says the US is about to topple over. It isn't. Turn on Deliverance, made in the 70s, and you'll find the same character you see right here and on the dystopian fantasy forum, predicting doom and gloom. They weren't right then, why should we believe them now?

But in practice, it was Bush, a known member of the conservative right, that passed the patriot act that betrayed us all. If it were up to me, everyone associated with that act should be held accountable and be put on trial for treason imo. Obama and associates too for the NDAA.

Both parties are essentially null and void IMO.

"Real" Americans? That quip, as well as the rest of your post speaks volumes.
What's funny, is that you have a very poor grasp of the progression of our political parties. The "Republicans" that freed the slaves, would be considered "Democrats" today.... Ya know, the whole exodus of Democrats, led by the south to the Republican party during the 1960s. Believe it or not, the Golden Elephant was a Democrat at one time.

And where are minorities trained to "hate whites?" I've never heard of such educational institutions. And following that ridiculous belief, are you teaching YOUR children that minorities "hate whites?" If so, and given that people tend to dislike people that dislike them, what makes you any different?

What p's me off is when right wingers ignore what Republicans do and complain when lefties do it.

Put into perspective. About 80% of those who vote for democrats are as corrupt as their leaders. In the republicans we have about 20% who are corrupt and we tend to purge them once they screw up (democrats seldom purge). The libertarians just seem to be clueless ideologues.

Conservatives are not lapdogs to their leaders are are those on the left. The left wants a messiah to save them. Conservatives just want common sense to rule, knowing that no man is perfect. Conservatives tend to more pragmatic than libertarians in that we understand that we are not going to get a perfect world.

So, in the end, you get a choice of voting for a corrupt democrat, a weak republican or a clueless libertarian.
