I'm just bummed that the general consensus of those here that people who smoke pot all fit into the "half baked" or "Tommy Chong" stereotypes....we do after all get pissy when anti-2nd people lump us all into gun toting so and so's.


Anyway, who am I to decide what is right and wrong for someone else? That would be like imposing moral values on someone.

Hang around a few pot heads a while. Pot makes you stupid or you gotta be stupid to smoke it. That's my experience with people who do it. Plus it's STILL illegal and you take the risk of losing your freedom doing it. More proof of stupidity.

Then look up THC overdoses and THC OWI fatal auto accidents.

Anything with nicotine , or caffiene in it is Mind altering ...Most foods cause a realease of chimicals in the brain ...therefore they are MIND ALTERING ..

Unfortunately, I have chewed ever since I was 14 - in other words, too many years. I chewed in the Marines too, but damn sure was never affected by an altered mind, so I really don't know what you are talking about. Its a crappy habit, but even after a day of not having a dip, I am not "screwed" up as someone would be high or drunk.

Never consumed it in any form myself, but I've seen some. THC doesn't create focus; it creates a "perception" of focus, whereas it actually destroys focus. It creates a "perception" of creativity, whereas it actually destroys creativity. It makes you so stupid that you think what you're doing is brilliant, while what you're actually doing is probably retarded. Yes, there's some chance you'll come up with something cool, but mostly it just lowers your expectations faster than your capacity. I'm not saying it's bad per se, but it doesn't mix well with firearms or heavy machinery. Boundaries, you know, like driving while drunk. Don't do it. Don't expect it to end well.

I don't smoke , Very seldom ever even take an asprin , Have a drink (margarita) once a week with dinner .
And agree that it is simply STUPID to do drugs or drink and play with a firearm ...But to say never take anything at all mind altering is equally as stupid , Because everything you ingest into your body has an effect on your mind .

You smoke/ drink etc in your home= your business
You smoke/ drink etc in public while operating possibly deadly equipment while I or my family is present= my business and we will probably have a problem.
I really don't give a !@#$ whether you believe pot or anything else "doesn't effect" you. If you are NOT under a doctors care and are taking mind altering drugs you are wrong. Period.
I'm sure that keeping the ILLEGAL drug cartels that, behead, torture, terrorize and help ruin families, in business is ok with you. If you believe that legalizing it will take care of the problem then IMHO you've never looked/ seen what the impact on families it does. I see it every day. I talk to these people who have said at one point "it's no big deal", "it helped me relax" etc. They all believed the lie that it was okay.
The next time you watch the news and see/ hear about the cartels in Mexico etc I hope you look in the mirror and think about YOUR part in it. If you can't or won't consider that then IMHO you have no soul and are a very selfish self-centered person and I really have no use for you. Just food for thought.

I have to agree with the above.. Just because some feel the ends justify the means (smoking pot, illegal immigration, Fast and Furious) doesn't make it legal.. If it's what everyone wants then contact your lawmakers and change the law. What do we have if we just enforce the laws we like? Come to think of it,... we have that situation with our current Justice department now, how's it working out for us?

Using that arguement I suppose that the porn industry is not doing anything wrong in any of their delivery of the product either. Correct? I mean it's legal to buy, taxed, controlled where you can buy it, and has an age requirment just like alcohol and the other examples that have been used. Right?

The focus you are reeferring to is called "spaced". Nothing more, nothing less.

Back to the original topic, I would have called the cops. 'Baked' is not an option when handling firearms.

I would not smoke anything at a range, myself. I think the amounts of powder residue, metals and mercury would be less than healthy. I make it a point to wash hands before handling food or drink when handling firearms...and keep any beverages sealed- Don't want french fry grease on my rifle anyway. I think anybody who is stupid enough to smoke cannabis on a public range deserves to have 911 surreptitiously called on them. Stupid.
Some personal choices should exclude some of the others....For the safety of others if not that individuals.
