I received the books I ordered from Sheriff Mack today. Some have expressed hesitation about sending this books as no one has been able to actually read the book. I just finished reading the book. I have to say its inspiring. I for one agree with every word in the book and have the highest regard for the author now that I have read it.

Take this for what its worth, my opinion. I will say this in general. If you are extreme left wing, a Marxist or a Socialist you might find offense in this book. If you are a American that believes in the Constitution and the principles it represents then you might just find yourself applauding this book.

These are some brief notes I made.

In the forward it talks about the founders of America and how the efforts of our present government are in opposition to what they strived for.

In general it states that the government is too big. It stress's this is a republic. It stress's the Constitution. It also talks about balance and checks in the government.

Referenced is the Brady Bill and how Sheriff Mach brought a law suite against the bill.

It talks about abuse of power and how some police are pressured to bring in the numbers.

About half way through the book it starts relating directly to sheriffs. Responsibilities, what they can do and why they should do it. It talks about the oath that sheriffs take.

There is no finger pointing in the book. In general it talks about what is wrong in our government and what can be rightfully done to combat things like gun control.

After reading the book I have no reservations what so every of supporting this effort to send a copy to every sheriff in Indiana.

Thanks for the 4-1-1 TopDog. Hopefully you can not help with the letter formulation and as others get the book they will also pitch in. We are only 26 books shy of our goal now.

Received my copy in the USPS box today. I'm about halfway through and find myself in agreement with 99% of what I've read so far. I should finish tomorrow. It's an easy read, but i have the folks in from NC to visit their grand-babies. So it's chaos here. lol.... needless to say, I have not finished the book yet (23:38).

I finished reading this today. Great little book (little only in size). These are big concepts and a wonderful, though brief, summation of much of the founders' ideals. Sheriff Mack pulls no punches and will certainly step on the toes of some "by the numbers" types in Law Enforcement, but there was nothing in there that i wouldn't endorse. I highly encourage each of our 5,000 INGO members to purchase two of these books, one to read and one to give to a local LEO (particularly sheriff's deputies).

I was listening to a video on Swine Flu Vaccinations and they gave some mention to Sheriff Mack, his lawsuit against the federal government that he won. Pretty cool stuff.

The mention of him was around 10:30 through the video and lasted a couple minutes. Then again a mention around 19:00.

Also they gave a web address that relates to Sheriff Mack.

Having spent my law enforcement career in a municipal police department, I can say that if I had my way, the ONLY law enforcement agency in any county would be the sheriff's office.

Any law enforcement executive who is appointed rather than elected owes his allegiance to whomever appointed him, not to the people. If his political bosses want him to run roughshod over people's rights he gladly does it. Municipal and township police departments are nothing but private armies for the powers-that-be.

I worked for four police chiefs in Cincinnati, and every one of them was a thug who should have been in prison.

Someone asked me today if I had received anymore replies from the sheriff's regarding the books we sent them. Sadly the answer is NO!

We only got 1 reply on 09/2009 from Clinton County. I recall posting this somewhere on these boards. If I get any other replies (don't hold your breath) I'll be sure to update this zombie thread again. :D

Hey even if only one person gets it, then that makes it worth it. I'm betting everyone of them read it.

    I'm sure they did.

Note that these were sent with no name (in the letters) just my return address & name so I'm betting that most sherrif's seeing that I'm not in their county probably said "whatever". Who knows. My our sheriff said nothing but then again he has delusions of running for IN Governor.

Has anyone in their counties called their Sheriff and aksed them about it?

Good idea, I'm going to do it. But before I do, Fenway would you mind if I let my Sheriff know where the group buy was organized at? And ask if he would mind coming here to post what he thought about it?

I wouldn't bet that everyone of them has, but I would hope that they have.

    I'm sure they did.
