Shipping definitely needs to be accounted for. But might I make a suggestion? Rather than the Flat Rate shipping at $4.xx each, send them via USPS Media Mail for $2.xx each, and buy a case of 100 envelopes from staples, for roughly $0.50 each when bought in bulk. I have run a small ebay store for a few years and have always done it this way to cut costs.

That' possible as well. I run a eBiz now and just flat rate my stuff (it's getting expensive) so thus why I sad that option. How big is the book? We can do the media rate but depending on the size of the book the cost of envelopes may vary.

I can't seem to find much info on the book. No sizes, ISBN's, or any other sellers besides the author. It's nowhere on ebay, half.com, or amazon.

Guess we'll have to ask the author how big the book is. I'd imagine it would fit in 9x12" envelopes. If he could provide the weight you could calculate the shipping rate online.

Good question I don't know if we still have a sheriff. On January 1, 2007 merger between the Indianapolis Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Department to become the Metropolitan Police Department took place. The sheriff still has a web page and it still says If you need further biographical data on the Sheriff Anderson or the Marion County Sheriff's Department, please write to: Sheriff Frank Anderson, Marion County Sheriff, 40 South Alabama Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204

    Anyone know for sure?

I cant match melensdad pledge of $50 but I will pledge $25 that's $75.00 in pledges not a bad start. If jediagh is willing to honcho this a PM to Fenway would either get the ball rolling or nix INGO as being represented. If Fenway wants it nixed then we should stop right here.

Hum... even if Fenway nixes it perhaps we can get a Tea Party chapter to "sponor" the letter provided we get enough funds ($1102.6 to go). :D

Let me PM fenway on this right now. Also need some help on a draft letter. Ideas?

There are 92 addresses on the mailing list. We'll go from that.

Even if for some reason we come up short on funds, we can perhaps prioritize which counties need to hear this message the loudest. I would start with the highest populated counties and any counties that voted Democrat in the last election. Just a thought. Of course it would be ideal to send them all a copy, but if it just isn't possible then we will strategically get as many out as we can, and a good letter explaining the message to the rest.

I know the Madison County sheriff is Democrat. I don't know if he's a liberal, so far haven't heard or seen any probs out of him. In fact I know his son, went to vocational school with him.

We could do it this way, if Fenway doesn't want to give the approval of doing it together as a site. Then we could try to get volunteers to buy them for each county and get them to each county. Say each person get one county each. Depending on how many people want to get involved. If we have more people than that who want to get involved, great just get donations and do a big group buy. But if we can't get that many involved then I say individuals buying them and giving them to their county would work. just my:twocents:

why do we need to have anybody sponsor this? I would much rather get a personal letter than one with an official letterhead on it, it looks more sincere to me and with less agenda:twocents:

as for a letter idea here is the one straight from his site.

    http://www.sheriffmack.com/docs/minnesota_sheriff_letter.gif

I like this letter & we could perhaps get everyone who donates name at the end with there city (if they want) provided INGO says no.

HotFarmBoy your idea can also work. Let me work on the group post I should have it up tomorrow. Have a class tonight from 7-9 so I may not get a chance to post tonight. Plus have not heard from INGO or the sherriff yet.

I just finished talking with the Porter County Sheriff and invited him to visit us on INGO.

I called to ask his policy for signing off on NFA paperwork.
He was very friendly and said as long as I came in to talk with him and he had an opportunity to meet me that he wouldn't have any problem signing off on the paperwork. He made the climbing a water tower refrence and wanting to feel comfotable that I wouldn't be that guy.lol

Told him about the book and regardless of what you all do I am going to send him a copy.

Count me in for 1 book or 2.

Have you guys invited your local LEO to come visit us?
I told him we needed more input from their point of view.
Can one of you mods check to see if a gov't isp visited us @ 4pm central. It sounded like he was going to check us out.

Seemed really friendly on the phone. But then again he isn't evicting me so I guess I have a nicer pov than others. lol
