No. This is the kind of BS I hate about our country and politics right now. The man was just making a point about being diverse. People who want to focus on specific words and make something of nothing need to get a life. This is exactly what the liberals are doing

Joe donnely sucks as a senator. Hes a lying politician who is his party leaderships *****. But I dont believe hes a racist. And I'm so tired of this issue . Let's beat him fair and square on his record as a senator. There is more than enough to talk about and prove. We dont need to sink to this level to beat him

Miss Sarah, no need to be sorry. It's what we do here on INGO. Public discourse is rampant, as it should be. I'm sorry if I was rude earlier, but I do believe the nation is under attack by socialists, and so I get a little heated. If you lean a little towards that side, I won't belittle you, but I will urge you to take a closer look at places like Venezuala (sp) to see how that's working out for them. Repubs are not perfect, but some Repub politicians work for limited government, or non-interference of government to the extent that is possible. You will not find that among the Dems, and you will waste your vote if you go Libertarian. I only urge you to reconsider because the stakes are very high at this exact time in history. Best Regards,

The choice to have sexual relations should, I think, fall pretty easily under the umbrella of freedom of association. That's not a right that we would like to have declared instead to be a privilege.

If you think sex falls into the same bucket as association, I don't think you're doing it right.

And we do have laws about consensual sex. Lots of them, and they've been in the news recently.

Association means that people can gather in public, sometimes even to redress the government. I don't have to have any contact with a person or have their permission in order to associate or gather with them.

Sex...not so much.

As a rule of thumb, if you need consent, it's not a right.

I don't think any of us are changing our minds Joe based on this. It's a gaff, plain and simple. It was a dumb thing to say and it should have been obvious who heard the line when he was (obviously) preparing it. Words and their use are important, but no, this does not show a character flaw. To me, it's entertainment.

If the left were going to be consistent, they would claim that it betrays a deep seated belief that "others" are inherently inferior....but none of us think that's what it means.
