Quite obviously they don't. Unfortunately it's one of those terms that is morphing from something fairly innocent (I believe it got its start in popular culture with Winnie the Pooh?) to something the porn industry and similar slang purveyors are working hard to convert to crass.

I took it exactly as you meant it, and not as something objectionable or crass. Doing so is exactly like the folks who got all upset that referring to the "Black Hole of Calcutta" was racist, without having a clue as to the historical reference.

To each their own (opinion) and for your sake, I'm glad you think your board is better. Some would say you're "too close to the project" to take an objective look...but that's another "opinion".
The "fact" is, nowadays things aren't as friendly across the membership as they used to be. It's not just because of the size of the board. It's like something in the air gone really bad.
People just aren't nice to each other anymore. There are a few little clique-ish groups that either take the same things and run them into the ground bashing each other over the head with them or turn every thread into a "I like boobs/butts" thread...even in the womens forum where it's not invited. That's real sweet. (And also one of the reasons I don't recommend INGO to the many new-to-guns-women I meet every day. And that's sad for THEM, because Keeva's 'Women & Guns" forum has been defunct since October).
I'll tell you this much about "opinions", though...as stated upthread ^ I bet none of the people that act like they do here on the board would ever act like that to someone's face in real life. And if they say they would...well, that's a real credit to INGO, eh?

shes right, im through telling people about ingo, tired of the bashing and threads disapearing. when i pm a mod or 3 i get no response at all.seriously why? yes i know i have the right to leave

What keeps you coming back to INGO everyday and why do you continue to post here?

Do you have any suggestions for ways to improve INGO?

To respond to a mods comment in another thread, Yes less policing would be wonderful, however comments were made, questions were asked, and nobody is responding. If there was a reason certain members weren't infracted step in here and say so. If your actually going to let us be adults and not get (*) over everything then by all means pop in and let us know. However ignoring comments is what has led us to this.

Anytime displeasure is shown its always either a locked thread, "go somewhere else", or bannings. (And we can clearly see that Joe Williams and IndyMonkey werent the source of all the problems). None of this has done anything but silence the displeasure for a few weeks till it blows up again.


And as JetGirl has stated, I have the choice to not come here but I come because of friends I have here that arent members on INS. And I rarely even venture out of the PW thread because of that.


My advice is listen and converse with the displeased, not ignore them

I like the fact that they are staying back and letting it go on this time. I actualy applaud the mod staff this time! get it out everyone. do you adults really need a teacher to step in to keep you from getting your hypothetical ass kicked or name called? whooptie freekin doo. someone called you a name or insulted you in a post. is that the end of the world? is that what makes some of you just break down and wanna stop breathing? but yeah, if i call someone a name and get an infraction, then i wanna see everyone else who name calls get one too, from the mod level down. it has to be fair for all if its gonna be a rule. but then again, if the owner doesnt want it that way then, its his call.

I have expressed my concerns over the way some things are handled here, but in the end, i have realized, its not my site, its not your site, its no the mods site. its the owners site. no matter what you, I or anyone thinks of his decisions or opinions, etc regarding ingo, it is his site. if you dont agree with them then dont send in any money to support the site. its still free to be a member here and share on the info and opinions, etc. emails probly are taken better than saying things on the open forum in a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with ingo. just sayin. Im done complaining about the site, or mods or owner. im just here to enjoy the site. im not getting stressed anymore about anything. for now name calling is against the rules. i dont agree with that rule but i will try to obey it on the open forum as required. if you need to call someone a name then do it in a PM, its legal.

I'm not asking anyone to be infracted or banned. I would like to see the petty bans lifted, personally. A lot of good members have been banned over a mods ego and it would be nice if those were reconsidered.

However, I'm giving the mods and Mike the benefit of the doubt and giving them time to discuss the suggestions made here. I don't expect an immediate response, and no one else should either. It's not like they're all on at the same time all day.

Let's give it some time, let them discuss things, and see how it goes.
