Here's my 5903 with Adj Sights, square trigger guard, and laser devices inc BA-2. Its fitting to take a pic on the S&W bible the current 4th edition. The laser mates perfectly with my 5903 as the laser is dated 1991, and my 5903 was made May of 1990. The adjustments on the laser are kinda wonky but I think i have it figured out in order to make it half way work.

I'm very impressed with how the 3953 fits my hand. I just picked this up from my local FFL today, after buying it NIB online a week or so ago. Can't wait to get out and shoot it.

Very cool to put it together!

The world of lasers have advanced much further than the pistol world with plastics!

Any recollection of the what the cost of the laser was back in 1991?

I could not tell you, but I'm sure it was probably close to 200-250.

I seen on GB a 3953TSW with 3 mags go unsold for $449 recently. It sucks as they are doing 1 day auctions on it. Have to keep refreshing to get to the current ad. Its a LEO trade in but I would rate it a good 90-95% without it in my hands.

I paid right around $650 for it, but I figured I'll never see one NIB other than where I found it. Did I mention I really like how this thing fits my hand?

So AllenM called on Saturday and let me know my barrels were done. he said he took some slop out of the old barrel and did it all for only $51. Will see how it goes once back together in a few days.

Good price for that you did good. Looks pretty clean. Have you taken it apart or did the internals look as clean as the outside?

Took it apart when I got home, it was spotless inside, looked like it had a very low round count. Went to the range that afternoon and shot about 40 rounds through it, was really impressed.

Got my 4506-1 slide and barrels back from AllenM yesterday. The cutting on the wide hood barrel to fit my narrow hood barrel was very clean and smooth. It has brought back the accuracy I was missing at 25yds. I think I will use the original barrel for testing reloads, and the new one for every day use. For 45 bucks and a week turn around I would recommend AlleM for any of you.

For what it's worth, I hadn't thought about looking at it previously, but that 3953TSW I picked up looks like a 2013 date of manufacture, since the fired casing has a July 2013 date on it. Never knew they made them that late.

LEO contracts kept the 3rd gen alive till at least 2015 from some who have these turn ins. Yours could of been a LEO contract that went unfulfilled. I would still call S&W and give them the serial they can give you a better date than whats on the envelope.
