It is interesting who is in Kursk. US mercenaries,Polish mercenaries,French foreign legion, and Ukrainian national guard units(formerly called AZOV),Georgian Legion among other mercenary groups with CNN and other western media. The absense of regular Ukrainian army troops in the first week was fairly clear. It is likely how they kept the whole thing a surprise. It certainly was not Ukraine who pushed into Russia.

Most of those seem to have been rotated back into Ukraine, replaced with Ukrainian regular conscripts. Wonder why?

As if CNN embeds weren't a dead giveaway that the US is orchestrating this whole thing.

    A quick question.
Has Ukraine's invasion of Russia gained any decent amount of land as say compared to what Russia has control of in Ukraine?
Or is this just a pinhead sized attack?

Ukraine claims something on the order of 1200 square km, but "gained" or "controlled" are subjective terms. They have not brought enough people to actually garrison all 90+ towns and settlements.

They have dropped most of the bridges across the river Seim, which kind of draws a big loop around this salient. They're now playing whack a mole with Russian pontoon bridges trying to pour more material into the area.

So an area smaller than Rhode Island....

1200 Sq KM is 463 Sq miles. That's Hendricks County plus a couple neighboring Townships.

Just think what they could do with an additional $100,000,000,000 plundered from American taxpayers.

Latest numbers are Russia controls 114,000sq km of Ukraine with the July number being 109,000 sq km. Attacking Russia as winter nears was not a great idea(history kind of points this out). In less than 2 months they will not need pontoon bridges, they will be able to drive over the rivers on the ice. Other than the damage to moral I do not see how holding 1200sq km of Russia's 17,098,246 sq km has any real imact in any time frame. They have not even come close to cuting supply lines as this is to far west for the main rail and roads into Donbass.

Well, it scuttles peace talks in the event of a Trump victory.

    .
Maybe the territory is being used as an example to western leadership that they are getting something tangible for their money invested. Does any western government that contributes audit where the money goes?

In our eyes sure. To Russian people though it is a sign NATO wants to destroy Russia(as many in NATO have actually said Russia needs to be broken up) and will likely solidify support for the war in Russia, especially given the troops used to launch it(mostly western mercenary groups from NATO member states).

I had not thought about the Trump angle, and it ending any chance of peace talks but believe that is a highly probable reason this happened now...that is if Putin did not see in comming and use it to rally Russia behind the war effort. Russia has been making some pretty big gains as well, with New York now under Russian control along with loads of smaller towns/villages in the last 2 months.

I definitely don't think anyone outside the US domestic audience buys the laughable notion that this entire offensive isn't stage managed and coordinated by the US. They even have Iraq War style embedded CNN journos.

For all intents and purposes this is a NATO ground invasion of Russia, exactly what Putin has claimed was always NATO's goal.

Do you think the Russian people are blind to their "Presidents" lust for power? I'm not so sure they would look at as a NATO incursion than an act by the Ukrainians.
