SWIFT has nothing to do with the gas situation, as far as I'm aware.

That's basically just electronic payment processing. Russia created/is creating their own alternative system with China.

In real life they are definitely gonna get slaughtered going up against a mechanized military that owns the air. No comms, no organization, no command. 50 dead to one GSW inflicted on a Russian soldier would be optimistic.
