I don't know man, they're pretty nutso about some renewable resources - i.e. farm animals, wild animals, trees, water, dirt, ...

BLM in California not allowing controlled burns...management logging...etc - nature's way is the best way - well, nature's way is to burn uncontrolled until it hits rain or other barriers. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

And yet...they continue to let "nature" have it's way.

It's the same at Yellowstone. They won't do controlled burns, so when they get a fire it's HUGE. Da Nada.

I used to work in northwestern Colorado. About 20 years ago there was a freak windstorm that took down about 6 million trees, literally, in the Routt national forest.

As I heard it from locals, one or more logging companies offered to clean up the mess at no charge. The Sierra Club or one of it's affiliates objected, and tied it up in court for an extended period of time. By the time the case was decided, the trees had rotted and were worthless - to everything except the local bark beetle population, which exploded on the smorgasbord. Once they ate their way through the dead trees, they began infesting the healthier trees in the national forest and surrounding areas.

We've had ice-ages, Deserts were once covered with trees, etc. I think the Earth is going through a natural cycle, We will have colder than normal years and hotter ones.
The earth is running a "cleaning cycle" as in temperature shifts to regulate the earths population...only the strong survive.

Yeah, those danged dinosaurs and their SUVS caused all that global warming millions of years ago.


Things change, things cycle. It's all PART of it. sheesh...all this hysteria and no proof.

Yeah, I know. I had the opportunity to tour Duke's Edwardsport, Coal Gassification plant a few years ago. It's no wonder that thing cost the billion + dollars they paid for it. That comes from somebody's wallet.
