So...Volkswagen...haven't heard the real story and this one only says they have software that cheats on EPA regulations:

First, who knows the whole story. Sounds like their diesel line is cheating on their overall carbon footprint, that about sum it up? So the Jetta TDI - three people in my department own them - consistently gets over 50mpg with plenty of power in a nearly full sized vehicle with plenty of room. To me, that's what auto makers COULD do if the EPA wasn't all up in their carbon business. That's just one small fraction of what human induced climate change is costing us.

And...with regard to the visit from the Pontiff..., "Mr. President, I am finding it encouraging that you are proposing an initiative for reducing air pollution, accepting the urgency. It seems clear to me also that climate change is a problem which can no longer be left to future generations. When it comes to the care of our common home we are living at a critical moment of history," Francis said to applause from the gathered crowd.

    That's super.

Red Francis needs to look for another job where his Marxism won't directly conflict with what he's supposed to believe and preach.

He is a Peronist, his vision of success is todays Argentina. He has zero understanding of economics other than you owe him 10% of it. His understanding of the climate is even less...

But it's so much fun to color outside the lines! And spend other peoples money.

Apparently all that discussion is here: https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/break-room/394103-vw-scandal-how-does-happen.html

BUT not much about what the EPA is doing to our wallet via emissions mandates born of human induced climate control...not necessarily air purity necessary for human habitation.

Hahaha! So...how do you really feel rhino? LOL!

I really do hold back too much.

I'm back for my math lessons.........

We're overdue for a good schoolin' by the next exceptionally condescending and dismissive progressive/socialist-statist math and science genius.

We're wallowing in ignorance, educational deficiency, and limited intellectual capacity.

All through HS I OC'd a TI-59. Got a couple of RPN models, and that's my default now. Kinda wish I'd had the 41C.

Just read an article that the German government was aware VW was cheating US EPA emissions maximums. Hey, gotta make a dollar, right? Actually pretty slick to "know" you're being tested because the steering wheel isn't moving. LOL. Three different VT Jetta TDI's here at work - all three get over 50mpg - all three quiet as the grave and I never see or smell them...wouldn't know they're not gas if you didn't read the labels.

What? The 11C was a toy. The 15C, now that was the ****. I still have mine. Somewhere.

Amateurs...... I rocked the HP 28s in college. Long Live RPN!!!!!!! :bacondance:

    You're giving away your age!

Yes, yes I am! R-HIT Class of 1987, BSME. University of California at Berkeley 1989, MS mechanical engineering. I am OLD.

And according the true believers of the Church of Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW), a heretic, a science denier, educationally deficient, and intellectually limited.

That would have been out of my price range in those days! You gotta love the LED display, though.

The 55C is what I had...thought I remembered it was reverse Polish too...

    I believe you are correct.

When I was in high school, its successor, the TI-55 II debuted with an LCD display. I don't think it was programmable, either. It was most notable for having the crappiest keypad in the history of electronics. They sold them in the book store at Rose-Hulman in 1983-84 at least, but they died quickly and most owners moved to an HP-11C or 15C.

I had a Casio scientific that I brought with me from high school before I went to the 11C.

I was a proud OCer of an SR56 until someone stole it from my locker during marching band practice. Yeah, I was just that kewl.

Did they get the belt case from you too?

Those German robots can accomplish any task if the the objective and design parameters are clearly defined, and the resources are sufficient.

The 15C cost too much for me at the time! I did envy it, though, but by the time I could move up, the 28C hit the market and I went with it instead. I had it part of my senior year and then through grad school.

    Yeah, but you're YOUNG!

I do have one of the first HP48 models that were made. Snagged that in the early 1990s. It was cool because you could use RPN on it, or switch to the algebraic mode and use it like a girl would.
