Why? Because if those are responding officers, most of us do not need to see their faces. It compromises their ability to blend in and to respond if needed.
Although if there were two armed ISP troopers and they did not respond, I'd sure want to know why. There may be a good reason, but I can't imagine it right now.

    Blessings,
    Bill

I don't even know what that means?

:dunno: Looked to me like it was being shut down for being "political". I don't know... I didn't know that politics were verboten on reddit.

Why don't we need to see their faces? Unless of course they are undercover officers, but then their cover is blown already, but not by anyone here sharing them.

Just thought it was weird. If you want to make a political statement, shouldn't it have something to do with the discussion? The event is an active shooter on a university campus - his link is to Gov. Daniels signing a law regarding intruders in a home. Those things have nothing to do with one another. No offense meant, just didn't understand his post.

None taken! :) I didn't read the link. I assumed it was something related to colleges banning guns on campus or something, and that the person complaining thought that it should be a law rather than just campus rules.

    Deceased.

Tragic. So sorry to hear this.

I attended Engineering school at Purdue Calumet from 1981 to 1985. I don't remember which year it was, but one of my professors was shot in his office by a student who was unhappy with the grade the prof gave him. I was in class at the time when another prof ran into the lecture hall out of breath and warned everyone that there had been a shooting in the building. The professor was shot center of the chest but the bullet missed his heart and he survived. He continued teaching as soon as he recovered.

while listening to the police scanner i heard dispatch say, two officers who where on campus taking a class had called in and taken up positions and were waiting for instructions on how they could help. This could very well explain the pictures of armed officers in plain clothes.

This was not a "school shooting", but rather a "shooting at a campus." A standard homicide that just happened to be on a campus.

Shooter went in with the purpose of killing the victim, left the gun, and was escorted out.

Did it mention the condition of the victim?

According to JCOnline the victim is a confirmed fatality and the shooter is "not cooperating" with the police, which I simply take to mean that he's lawyered up.

From what few facts I've heard I'm going to guess that this was something personal and the deceased was specifically targeted. Doesn't sound like the shooter fired on anyone else. This is just my speculation.

True. Irritates the heck out of me. We've had a couple of handfuls of homicides this year already and because "school" is associated with this one, it will get national attention. It's already on USA Today.

But, the homicide on 38th? Nada. Even though the motive(s) could have been identical.
