Heard on the radio this morning that the charges in Georgia were brought up by 1 County's prosecutor, not the state AG.
And if this is to stand, every county could bring charges against anyone.... when do we start filing against most of congress...asking for a friend

If you think that only Democratic district attorneys will play this game, you have another thing coming. Prepare for a future in which running for office carries the legal risk of going to jail -- on all sides. Which means that only the worst and the most shameless will run for office.

“But the Trump team may have an ace up its sleeve. Clark Cunningham, a law professor at Georgia State University, told WSB Radio that Trump could have the case moved from state court to federal court. Cunningham also believes that Trump’s attorneys are likely to do just that.”

“One hundred percent,” Cunningham said. “That’s the first thing he’s going to do.”

“Trump has the prerogative to move the case from state court to federal court because he’s a former president.”

“As a former president, because the acts for which he would be prosecuted took place while he was still president, federal law would allow him to ask for his trial to be moved to federal court, called removal,” Cunningham told WSB.”

On wibc this a.m. it was reported that Mark Meadows has already made this request. And since the 19 are being tried as one, they would all be moved. I don't know if this helps the accused or not. Bad/bigoted/political judges are everywhere. Regardless, to call this a witch hunt is to way understate how absurd the legal circus is when it comes to Trump. Bending laws to fit made-up crimes in questionable jurisdictions, all in an effort to eliminate a political rival, doesn't make America look like that shining city on a hill.

    From the article…

“Another factor in moving the case to federal court is that Trump is more likely to find a sympathetic jury in a federal case than he would in Fulton County, one of the state’s most heavily Democrat locales. “Plus, he might draw a federal judge that he appointed,”

Looks like under the RICO act one has to establish that there was a "criminal enterprise." working in conjunction to commit a crime. Looks to me that it would be hard to establish in this case.
You are presupposing an honorable prosecutor and an honest judge and jury, none of which I think are possible in that jurisdiction

    Ben Shapiro says:

All of this is quite terrible for the country. No matter what you think of Trump's various legal imbroglios -- from mishandling classified documents to paying off porn stars to calling up the Georgia secretary of state in an attempt to "find" votes -- the glass has now been broken over and over and over again: Political opponents can be targeted by legal enemies. It will not be unbroken. If you think that only Democratic district attorneys will play this game, you have another thing coming. Prepare for a future in which running for office carries the legal risk of going to jail -- on all sides. Which means that only the worst and the most shameless will run for office.

Or, hear me out, he's actually guilty of all this and no one, not even the president, is above the law.

Nah, that can't be it. It's has to be a vast conspiracy against your favorite candidates.

But remember, no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case, we should leave it to the ballot box.

Precedence set, just because it isn't your guy doesn't mean we change the rules just so we can keep the potato in the white house. But I mean saying this is in good faith.

In reality I'm cheering for him to be behind bars, because playing stupid games wins you stupid prizes. We're long overdue for those in power to realize the buck stops with the people, and the people need to realize that apathy is only going to make things worse.

Well, it seems to me that the tapes of him asking the GA Governor to find some more votes are fairly unambiguous, in that he wasn't asking for unlawful votes; he was asking for the Republicans to see if they could scare up legal votes.

Now, you may say that just asking was shady, but in that case, shouldn't you also be asking why the Fulton County folks ran off the Republican vote counters; blocked the windows; and produced ballots from cases that had been kept under tables? Or why they claimed there was a water main leak (IIRC) when there obviously wasn't one?

If you think that Trump's actions were worth an investigation and trial, how about the various politicians who illegally pushed ballots out to voters in various states? Or how about election officials who refused to turn over their election records?

There was plenty of shady stuff going on both in the 2020 election and in the 2016 election, but all the "investigations" seemed to go one way.

In my mind, the Democrats were more brazen in stealing the 2020 Presidential Election than Mayor Daley was when he pushed JFK over the top in 1960. And he BRAGGED about that . . .

“I am told by a reliable source that Friday evening that somebody from Washington called the District Attorney from Atlanta and said ‘you have to indict on Monday – we have to cover up all the mistakes we just made with Weiss,’ and she said apparently, ‘my jurors aren’t coming back until Tuesday,’ and they said ‘you didn’t hear me, you have to indict on Monday,’ and she said, ‘They’re not going to be here before noon…this means it’s going to be 8 or 9 or 10 o’clock at night!'” Newt told Charlie Kirk.

I'm tired of "reliable sources". Name names. Provide a recording. An email. Something. I don't place any faith in unnamed sources, no matter which side uses them. You want Krakens (that don't amount to anything)? That's how you get Krakens (that don't amount to anything).
