Only on INGO would a president saying that the media are the "enemy of the people" would he get a pass.

It seems that any sense of decorum at the level of the chief of state has been abandoned. And yes, it probably started with Clinton. But Trump has an opportunity to raise the bar. He decided to go into the gutter instead.

That's what I would expect from a local tavern conversation. Not something I want to see in dealing with allies and enemies.

Trump didn't say the media was the enemy of the people. He said fake news was the enemy of the people.

I take that to mean that manufactured stories or stories taken out of context designed primarily to gin up outrage or misinform people does a disservice to the people. It's not helpful to them.

And yes, by that definition Trump could be seen as a hypocrite, because he often trades in misinformation and half truths as well.

So you can't get past the hate to see any of the positive that he's doing for this country? :dunno:

The fact that he's pissing off all the right people did it for me. I couldn't be happier.
Well I could actually be happier if the left would just stop trying to block all the good stuff I hired him to do but that's politics.

I’m with you, DD. First I consider his opponent. Then I look at how rabid the hate is from the Demo/socialist/progressive/communist side and I’ll forgive a lot.

    Whoa! HOW DARE YOU!!!??!!

You with your facts and reasonable conclusion. There's no place for that!

To me, Trump was a big "Meh." until the primaries resolved that he was going to be the only thing standing between America and Hillary Clinton. I don't have any emotional attachment to him, but I do have an emotional attachment to some of the most excellent changes he has helped facilitate (like the tax cuts). I would have preferred someone else, but I also have no illusions that someone else would or could have done the same. As long as he keeps doing good things, I'm on his side.

Aside from that, the magnitude of the hatred turned toward him is instructional. You can judge someone by their enemies and the people who hate him the most clearly have morals, ethics, and principles that are not compatible with mine.

Then I'm curious what you think "enemy of the people" means.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. "Enemy of the people" is NOT the same as calling for your constituents to get in the face of, and harass ANY conservative they see in public. Not even close. Not even a tiny bit.

You're considering a lifestyle change GP?

It's funny (ludicrous) how y'all can become so incensed with an inflammatory remark by a democrat but consider the president above reproach. Your moral authority is in the crapper.

When the president comes out and literally tells his supporters to seek out democrats wherever they may be, get in their face, be rude to them and disrupt their lives in any way possible, then this argument might carry some weight. Can you show me an example of that? That rises above the level of "an inflammatory remark".

    I don't "hate" him. I can't stand him. There is a difference.

The problem is that we see no difference, because you are so vehemently trying to get others to not be able to stand him.

Being more presidential would pull in more voters to his side.

He has enough votes already and he would not have been treated any better by the media had he been the kindest person since Christ Himself.

Bush 2 tried to make nice with the Democrats and the Media and all he got was he was the dumbest man that had ever been elected president.

    Bush 1 Lied.

    Reagan was senile.

Trump fought back from day one and the media and the democrats still hate him. We conservatives like his not backing down and couldn't care less that you cannot stand him.

    Try sitting or reclining.

I think the change came when the news departments of major networks were shifted into profit centers. I'm pretty disgusted by the press and most of the internet "reporters"/pundits. But, freedom of speech is the first and perhaps most important right in our Constitution. Clearly, the press is abusing that right. I don't have a solution other than shutting the TV off and not believing almost all of what is written by them.

With this I can agree. They are dancing dangerously close to the line of yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

I like Trump, like what he has done and what he's trying to do. The socialist party (tired of calling them progressive demoncrats or the left) is non-stop with their harassment not only of Trump, but his supporters also. Just for once, I'd LOVE to see the GOP (Trump) start to throw out lawsuit after lawsuit against the opposition; IOW, do to them what they do to us. I'd love it and would applaud it.

There is absolutely no respect for the rule of law, the recent elections prove that. No respect in journalism, recent Acosta incident proves that (CNN lawsuit against WH). No respect for any opposing opinion. It's time the GOP starts to go after them........

Like? The benefits he has brought to the nation are FAR outweighed by the negatives. In fact the benefits that Americans receive, seem to benefit him and his cronies more than anyone else. Some of us just got lucky, and a bone feel off the table.

In your opinion. I deal with dozens of small business owners every day, and to be honest, I couldn't tell you the last time I heard a complaint about President Trump from one of them. In fact, I have about six that would dry-hump him on Christmas morning given the opportunity.

Knowing a lot of small business people from my trade and travels I am seeing the same thing. Business is booming. They can not keep up. Need to hire more help but can not find qualified people that really want to work. Where is the negatives people keep pushing. Kut......where are you getting your info. Of course the guys at the top are profiting. What did "O" do.....he spread the cream around. Hell man that is the game. But this time it is "TRICKLING" down to us. I have been stupid busy since DJT has been in the big boy chair.

This is where we disagree. I am not attempting to get you to change your mind. You might surmise that many of us who are not radicals can't stand him and have seen no reason to change our views. But, I certainly am not encouraging you to change your view.

    Here's a start....
    https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/here-are-202-companies-hurt-trumps-tariffs

I know that Americans are making more money per paycheck... the catch, they're working more hours. So in pure numbers, they making less money for working more.

Not the by the hour guys. There is a lot more to this than a link. Hours on salary are always a thing. No I did not open the link. Just spouting off what I "Think" might be in there by the more hours comment.
I see all this jibber jabber on the negative and then I go out among them and see help wanted signs every where. Friends in the trade call me looking for people. Heck they try and get me back in a truck or in the office. It is rolling out there Kut. These are results. People are working. Anybody that actually wants a job can get one. Then they can get a better one and so on. It is rolling out there man.
If you have actually addressed your skill sets. Improved yourself there is crazy well paying jobs to be had. If you are a lazy butt then yes, a fork lift driving position in a warehouse is not going to put you in a new SUV. It is all relative. Spin it up as you will. Refuse to see the positives.

This **** make me ****ing nuts. I am out.

I work for a small mom and pop transmission shop and we have already set a record for the best year ever. Still have 6 weeks to go and no slow down in sight.

I can also say in the past 1 1/2 years ive seen more help wanted signs in windows of local businesses than i did in the totality of Obummers 8 years.

Tax cuts....whats not to like. I'll take another $1200 per year in my pocket. Far cry from what Obummer did. He cost me well over 1k per year just so i could pay for someone else's healthcare.

Jobless numbers dwindling down. Record lows for unemployment numbers, especially among black and hispanics.

I could go on and on, but whats the point. Those that hate Trump are gonna hate, even if he cured cancer. There is no changing their minds.

And i for one could give a crap what he tweets...don't do the twitter bs anyway. I didnt vote for him to be politically correct....so tweet on Mr President, and keep making the pansy ass liberals cry and moan!!!
