Respect and reaching across the aisle could do much, but it only goes one way.

President Trump had more Democrat congressmen in the White House to discuss legislation in the first few months of his administration than President Obama did in the first two years of his. Obama had none because he didn't need them with his Democrat majority. Trump reached across the aisle and tried to work with both parties.

Prior to the last shutdown, Trump sent proposals to congress which were rejected by Schumer and Pelosi before they were delivered or read. They were so focused on a shutdown they could blame on Trump that they wouldn't even consider a compromise.

The Left and most of the media are so committed to hatred and demonization of Trump that a ball cap is now considered as racist as a Klan hood. Imagine if the media claimed a Kamala Harris bumper sticker was the same as a "Kill Whitey" sign.

The media and the Democrats seem to see the country as Virtuous Socialists and Hateful Racists and I am sick of their prejudice.

And dont forget how Trump punked Pelosi proving that point.
-Schedule a presser for 3PM to announce the proposal he will give to congress.
-At the last minute reschedule your presser for 4:05PM.
-At 4PM, an apparently scheduled tweet setup by Pelosi's staff goes out denouncing the proposal that wont be revealed until 5 minutes later. Oops.

“I had a little bit to drink maybe that’s the reason that I couldn’t walk away but being discriminated for so many times in my life, I just had to stand up for myself,” she said. “He’s not a victim. I am the victim. I have been bullied, OK?”

Letting this emotional infant into your life, maid or not, would be...foolish. (Criminy, she's not even that good looking). A better sentence would be jail time, mandatory alcohol treatment course, and required to buy Turner a new hat. Unless her immigration status is "illegal," in which case ship her butt back to Brazil where she won't have to see any MAGA hats.

I accept no responsibility for my actions because my life experiences have made me this way.

    Therefore I must blame you.

In other news... or not in the news... while regurgitating Smollett's attorney's statement that the actor has "impeccable character," I still haven't seen mention in the MSM of his prior conviction.

    How bizarre.

NBC reported it. Are they not MSM?

Berkeley police have identified a potential suspect in the assault of conservative activist. “Based on current information available to the department, the suspect is not a student at, or affiliate of the University.”

So... a MAGA gets interactions with Brazilian women? Probably not the end result I'd want, but at least it's an introduction... Hopefully, a sympathetic judge rules that she has to be his maid for a month. If nothing else, she could help him shave. And maybe teach him that "educated" gentlemen don't wear hats indoors, much less at the dinner table.

Meh. Call me old fashioned; and a sucker for Brazilian women.

    How much is a Brazilian?
    :hehe:

Have I mentioned, sides are retarded?

Can you please give a viable platform for a middle ground?

Something like we give them our guns, limitless abortions, socialism, take freedom of religion out of the first and we get...

That's not what I mean by not choosing sides. To the extent possible, prefer to be loyal to a position on an issue, rather than to people. Not saying you can't group together around a common issue, to work for some common cause like gun rights. But just be careful of becoming so loyal to the person or group that you can't distinguish personalities from the issue. This frees you from the tendency to agree with a person or group because of loyalty, information bubbles, bias, etcetera.

So I'm not talking about just being in the middle on everything. Take the issue of guns. I am not a centrist on that issue by any stretch. I favor eliminating most gun control laws. But, I'm not going to be blindly loyal to Republicans or the President or the NRA.

Dude, you've got to make a stand at some point. Aren't you tired of running back and forth?

I stand proudly and loyally right next to the Republicans, the President and the NRA..... My eyes are wide open.
Stand your ground and don't move an inch.

I am not wanting to have a long argument with you, I cannot keep up with you.

I am not a one issue voter.

The Democrats, Socialists and Communists/Progressives are diametrically opposed to nearly everything I believe in.

There is only one other viable party, there is only one President (not HILLARY) and there is only one viable gun rights organization.

I refuse to waste time and possibly turn people against MY side.

Is it possible that in executing your idea of being true only to yourself that you are in fact loyal to no one and nothing?

Loyal to nothing? Do you think if you're not loyal to a person you can be loyal to nothing? I'm loyal to the idea of individualism. I'm loyal to defending the 2A. I'm loyal to a lot of issues. I try not to be loyal to people because of the issues. I say it that way to distinguish the loyalty I have for my family and friends. But, don't be loyal to Republicans. They'll **** ya. Don't be loyal to a president. He'll **** ya. If those people want my support, they have to earn it. Continually. The benefit is the freedom from having to toe the line, conform to a group imposed orthodoxy, etcetera.

It sounds like the family that is married in the little Church, gets counseling for years, and loves the pastor for 20 years or so, until he preaches one sermon they don't like and they leave the Church.
