There are still people clinging to and repeating the lies that an innocent native man was victimized by evil white Catholics in MAGS hats and some of them even claim to have seen all of the live stream video! It's pathetic and borderline unbelievable, but you almost have to admire that level of commitment to the agenda. Either that or they really believe that other people are as dumb as they want them to be. bWOW.

The libs say it's the hat's fault. :dunno:

    So to recap:

-Trump says he's going to build a monument to himself, a wall
-Trump says, this wall will be paid by Mexico
-When asked Trumpers also say Mexico will pay for the wall
-Mexico tells Trump to pound sand
-Trump decides to may American taxpayers pay for the wall
-Congress tells Trump to pound sand
-Trump decides to shutdown govt to get funding for a wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for
    -Pelosi doesn't blink
-Trump backs down, and says the "HE" will open government for 15 days.

My only question, is that if Trump is taking credit for opening govt, why wasn't he taking the hit for keeping it closed?

Maybe because he wanted a 'barrier' the same way the Dems/neverTrumpers claimed to have wanted a 'barrier' in the past, but then changed their minds and dug in their heels because, you know .... TDS. :dunno:

Although I don't know that I agree with your assessment that 'he wasn't taking the hit for shutdown'. Maybe not here on INGO, but elsewhere he was THE boogieman for the whole event.

ps.: I don't know any sane person who ever actually thought Mexico would pay for it; at least not directly.

^^^This^^^ Exactly this, and only this. 5.7 billion sounds like a lot of money, but in the grand scheme of the federal budget (or lack thereof I should say), it would be like you having $100 in your pocket and me asking for a penny.

Just out of curiosity, have you cared to look at Republican "Nays," when the Democrats wanted a barrier in the past? If it's fair to ask why Democrats changed their minds, then it's fair to ask the same thing of the Republicans.

    Here's the 2013 vote:

In what alternative universe was he not taking the hit. ALL of MSM was blaming him. Nobody was blaming Pelosi and her gang. THEY control the purse strings. THEY could have prevented the shutdown EASILY. Trump was willing to make concessions. THEY shut it down without even hearing his proposals. Refused to even listen. It may have started with Trump, but the outcome (keeping the government shut down) was 100% on them.

Want to play that game? Was anyone blaming Obama for being obstructionist back then, or did they blame the congress (where the blame squarely belongs - Republican or Democrat)? No, they blamed congress. This time - same situation, but Trump gets the blame, because the Democrats can do no wrong in the eyes of the MSM. Try again.

The way I framed the question, was Trump opinion of the shutdown personally. I said Trump was "taking credit," for opening the govt, so I inquired why he wasn't doing the same for the original closure. In any case he got his fanny spanked on this. We will see if he's stupid enough to try it again in 3 weeks.

Find me the Obama quote where he said he would take the blame for shutting down the govt, like Trump did. No worries, I'll wait.

Without reading that bill, I can't say if it was the whole package that caused them to vote no, or if it was just RINO ass-hole-ed-ness that caused it. I will research it, and give you the correct answer soon.

Dems wanted what they called "Border Security" with add-ons like a one-way door that never closes in the name of freedom and humanity.
None of which has anything to do with actual "Security" but everything to do with getting more votes and money that equals power.

No, Obama just said, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor". And Pelosi said, "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it."

I don't know why you're making the argument you are anyway. You said Trump owned it. He should absolutely take credit if he reopens it - you know, for the good of the people he works for, in spite of not getting what he wanted. Pelosi and her gang stomped their feet, stuck their fingers in their ears and yelled no, no, no!

Which was good idea since the only people upset at them are Trumpers.

I guess if you're a three year old child it is good. I mean it works with some parents. Didn't with mine. Doesn't for my grandchildren. Adults come to compromises. Trump offered compromises. The children stuck their fingers in their ears and shouted no. See the difference?

ETA: Let me fill you in. Not all of those 800,000 federal employees affected directly are "Trumpers".

The former U.S. Marine Nathan Phillips who served in the Vietnam War apparently NEVER LEFT THE STATES.

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/native-a...rontation-never-deployed-overseas-marines-say

Yep. and left a buck private. He should have been a specialist just for nothing more than showing up to work every day. Oh, wait, he spent so much time in the brig he couldnt advance. Loser. Shipley did a good job breaking it down.

Let's not pick and choose religions. Christianity is completely inconsistent with the American Constitution too... hence why it's a good idea the founders attempted to keep the government away from religious influence.

Kinda. I wouldnt say COMPLETELY inconsistent. After all our constitution and rights are based on natural law. Natural laws like "thou shalt not steal" "thou shalt not kill" etc.

Those seem pretty consistent to me.

Now when you start going into the blatantly religious commandments like graven images, worshiping other gods, etc . you are right. But its not 100% inconsistent.
