Denny Alert: Worked for a German company and they would bring new hires to Germany for orientation in September so they could experience Octoberfest. Don’t ask me why it’s not called Septemberfest. Never found out.

October is when you wake up from Oktoberfest (which is held in September).

There's also a German "Mardi Gras" that's held in February.
I guess that's when you would expect it, but what the German connection is all about is way above my pay grade.
