I hope for his sake he's a cop. FOPA only protects you if it is lawful to possess the firearm at the origin and the destination of your trip. CA does not issue non-resident carry permits, nor do they recognize anyone else's, and SF is notoriously anti-gun, to the point that they recently ran the only remaining gun shop in town out of business. He may be looking at some extra time spent there, or at minimum, the payment of a fine and loss of his guns. (I know nothing of this man nor what he does, other than from the context of this tweet.)

Thanks to all who IDd him for me. I thought about McAfee antivirus, but didn't know he was that one. Also, yes, I suppose he could hold a California CCP, if he lives there. That he was "going to" SF made me think he was doing so from another state.
