A shame they blurred the idiot's name. Somebody that stupid deserves to get shamed by the internet.

Well, it's possible it's made up. But I've heard too much to believe it necessary to make up.

Even if this particular post was entirely fabricated, that doesn't change the fact that the underlying truth if very much truthful. It is the foundation under affirmative action (i.e., hiring based on race, gender, or other social considerations rather than actual ability to do the job and/or do it better than other applicants to the extent that it is considered discriminatory to fail to advertise the job to preferred classes, let alone not give hiring preferences). It is also manifested in what quite a few people serving in the military under Billy Jeff have told me that lots of one-man jobs were reclassified as two-person jobs in order to make the specious claim that women were not being given preferential treatment to meet physical standards. We have people screaming up lungs because of the 'disproportionate' number of minorities in prison, suggesting that actual criminality should not be the criterion for incarcerating people. The bottom line is that judging based on merit has come to be considered inherently discriminatory because, by god, it just isn't 'fair'*.

*As defined by the Social Justice Warriors. Your mileage regarding fairness (like apportionment based on merit, for example) may vary.

That sentiment seems implicit whenever I talk with progressives. They seem to think that a meritocracy is inherently immoral. The logical conclusion is that post.

In my experience, most of those who can't or won't do the job are quite willing to let those who can and will do it, do it, so long as those doing it don't get paid more or get more respect or feel proud of their abilities or efforts.

The quote is attributed to "Godfrey Elfwick", an internet troll. As with much humor, an unfortunate truth is leveraged to absurdity.

Good point. At the end of the day, their goal is to socialize the outcome and rewards, not the input of effort. They will be more than happy to watch you work so long as they are getting paid for it.
